I did a playthrough where I set to destroy the meteorite as fast as I could to get a hang on how the early game plays on this new start. I managed to do it in 65 cycles and overall, it's a pretty easy start. This is a recap on how the playthrough went.

Now I would say this is by far the easiest start if you don't account for the meteorite. An example of this is managing oxygen. A regular start has algae, the forest start gives you oxyferns and some oxylite to get started. Relica start has so much oxylite and so much algae. I usually rush a SPOM because algae tends to run out quite early on but between the oxylite and the algae you can last a long time before worrying about that.

Food is also not a concern at all. The smoker is absurd. I had 100,000 kcal stored by cycle 30 because veggie poppers are incredibly easy to produce and refrigerated last for a very long time. This number would have been more absurd if I wasn't feeding lumb meat to a rhex ranch. Granted this would have been more difficult if I was going for locavore and carnivore but even then I think you would be able to simply kill the wild lumbs and jawbo around the map and get it before doing any ranching.

Power isn't much different I relied on peat burners for the entire thing and they aren't much different from the coal generator.

Now onto the meteorite. My strategy was to rush bio diesel production since getting to the oily biome would require atmo suits, which would probably be doable but I think this is the faster way. I searched for the nearest jawbo biome and dug all the seakomb I found. I planted about 10 but later planted a few more to get it a little earlier. There's more than enough polluted dirt and bleach stone to make bio diesel and once you get that the refined metal isn't that much of a concern. Once I started making blastshots it only took a few cycles to finish it.

By the end I had already setup atmo suits on the whole base and a lura plant farm for plastic. After this I would guess the mid game wouldn't play much different. Overall I was hoping  it would be harder. Once the full release comes I'll probably do a full achievements run which should make things more difficult but I think some nerfs for the smoker and reducing the starting oxylite would be healthy for the map.

Congrats on the 65-cycle run! You should give the base game a try — it’s a bit tougher. I’m starting a new file on the hardest difficulty, aiming for all achievements and a meteorite blow-up by cycle 65. Think you’re up for it?

I don't see how playing base game makes the meteorite significantly harder, I didn't use any of the SO content during this playthrough and played a classic sized map. I will do an all achievements run once the full release comes around and may put some settings on higher diffuculties. I don't like doing max difficulty because I find that late game those traits become annoying instead of difficult. My complaint here is that you are given too many resources early on which makes a lot of the early game challenges trivial.

I suggested the base game because your post showed you could handle the meteorite challenge pretty quickly. That really highlights how much easier the DLC map is in comparison. Playing on the hardest difficulty with achievements adds a real challenge. There's no early peat burners and no early farming, so it really pushes you to your limits. Of course, if you're not into high-difficulty runs, that's totally fine. I'm just curious if you could still destroy the meteorite before cycle 100 .

On Relica Minor(space out size map) I was reluctant to roll for slime molds but I rolled for it anyways as a last resort and i had default Demolier 200 cycles but I played as if it was on imminent extinction so I tried to get the blasthots before cycle 100. Had 8 dupes by cycle 50 I manage to get 100x blastshots by cycle 82( had 10 dupes then). On Relica Minor a challenge was getting past the obsidian early to get to certain spots in the wetland biome. Some veins dont even spawn any seakombs plants with the pacu at all and I did not dig out parts of the biome to check for seeds(not sure if they even have buried seeds in the wetlands tbh) Luckily I ended up finding 6 seakombs by cycle 40 to get started and it honestly took a minute for more seeds to drop and honestly thought i wasnt gonna make it time so I end up digging out 2 veins of slime mold to achieve it LOL

My fastest run so far is cycle 58! It was my first attempt and I got lucky on it! My goal is to try and do it before cycle 50, but the timing for that is really tight. My other runs have not been nearly as fast as my first. I haven't tried with the new patch yet though, idk if adding water to the phyto oil requirement is going to make it easier or harder
