From what I can see on the forums, I don't really know if people agree.

Personally, I think a lot of my satisfaction with this beta comes from the fact that the new questline is a bit tedious and grind-y.
But.... I think I really like it, I think that part of it all really scratches the itch for me.

Perhaps when the lunar side of things has fully concluded, would you like a placeable structure that requires an absurd amount of materials to complete?

I think it would be really satisfying to summon the final FINAL lunar boss by having to collect significant lunar related items and a huge resource sink, like one that's going to be a big project, perhaps (not-requiring) something a team of people could all be working on.

I completely get it if that's not wanted, but I'd actually love that :D

Same

I think requiring exactly 1 more cc shard than a cc fight drops is really annoying. But other than that I like it.

What I don't like is evicting Pearl. Ocean has thousands of empty tiles and Klei decided ruin the one spot that was good on the ocean.

7 thulecite bugnets....SEVEN!!!! they could lower that to 4 or make it cost something else

I think wagstaff can give us one of these bugnets. He was holding it in the trailer and he crafted it with the shard we gave him. That way we can complete the mission by killing 2 celestial champion

I definitely prefer this new questline over the one involving Pearl, it's simply more engaging and immersive. I absolutely love catching the Gestalts, and the animation is top-tier; everything looks fantastic and polished. The expansion of her island, the construction of the arena, and her eventual exile all fit into Wagstaff’s ego top ambitions.

Pearl's tasks, while they can get frustrating — especially when you're doing them for the umpteenth time, but still have a certain charm. Helping her rebuild her home, collecting trash, and watching her island slowly come back to life carries a sentimental value. Not everything in a game needs to be completely frustration-free,  sometimes it's the small annoyances that make the sense of accomplishment feel even better.

I also really like the number and variety of items required to summon the new boss. I've got over 2000 hours in the game, so bosses aren't much of a challenge for me, even solo. But that's why I appreciate when summoning them requires real effort and preparation, rather than just waiting for a season or triggering a simple event. Gathering resources with a purpose, unlocking the boss, and being rewarded with a genuinely useful item after defeating it, that's the kind of progression I love. It's not for everyone, it takes some perseverance and discipline, but that’s exactly what makes it so satisfying for players who enjoy structured survival gameplay.

I'm also really curious to see where things go in Phase 3. I'm hoping we’ll get more lore-related answers. If it all ends with Wagstaff building some mechanism powered by lunar energy, it rebels, we kill it, and then Wagstaff just vanishes into thin air I’ll be really disappointed. His storyline is at a point where it deserves actual answers, not just more mystery. There's so much potential in his character and his role in the DST universe, and it would be a real shame if that ended up being wasted.

I don’t really get the people who are complaining about the update. It seems to mostly be coming from casual players who haven’t spent a lot of time in the game  or if they have, they mostly just AFK in base — and maybe don’t fully understand how the game industry works. Just look at how sparse the Minecraft updates are  they often add just a mob or a small feature with barely any meaningful content. Compared to that, what we’re getting in Don't Starve Together is incredibly rich. Klei is doing a fantastic job steadily developing the game in a way that respects both the lore and the player community.

I don't mind the questlines. I just want incentive. There is none besides "you know it exists and want to." I want a something to force me to start them because of some event that I can prevent by pursuing the questline. Literally any reason, I don't care just give me a reason to want to do it.

Just do me a teeny tiny favor, I won’t ask of you much, start a new world reach this point delete the save start a new new world, go and do this about 20 times and tell me if you still enjoy the grind.

Its too much.. and this comes from someone who doesn’t have a job or go to school and can sit around playing video games all day.

I am someone who does thing constantly. I don't hate it personally. Just different from OP and want incentive.

I think it's really cool that something like this has forced people to get creative like using bundling wraps with mimics in it for extra uses! Even though probably unintentional, it's a super cool way of rewarding game knowledge and incentivize look at things from outside the box while not being a really cryptic but required thing to do.

Yes Mike, I have thousands of hours, i've done it many times. You. Are. Not. Good. Enough.

Stop moaning and learn how to play better. Everyone has said it in every way possible now, but just play something funner or easier, or at the very least since you claim that we just can't understand due to your controller issues - post it in the console sub-forums.

I have a job and I've done it many times, look inward young padawan.

Yeah that's an element i've seen too, I think it's good for player engagement to have a number of solutions - especially unintended ones, it's nice when gameplay mechanics accidently or intentionally compliment each other

I disagree. If the lunar boss is final FINAL, then there should be a wider variety of grind.

I'm not fully convinced it's the FINAL lunar boss, maybe for a good while sure, but definitely not the last (prob for the next 2+ years)

In my opinion, it's better to reduce the amount of grinding required for a single reward. Those who enjoy grinding can repeat questlines. I think changing the Restrained Static requirement from 3 to 1 is Klei’s anwser of the grind.

I personally love scavenging and resetting the ruins over and over, rolling around in tons of gems and thulacite even when the party doesn’t need it, but that’s just because I’m a weirdo. The game shouldn’t force players to play like that.

No, I wouldn't want to play like that. The reward would be from the fight, the set-up would be the grind - I don't see a reason why you'd grind for the sake of it, I just think an overall world goal would be fun generally, whilst highlighting my preference for that to incorporate something that would require large-scale contribution.

Yes, but even if it is just a "somewhat importantly milestoney" lunar boss, it should still have stuff before it to support and hype it up.

Just think about it for a few seconds: do you want to kill CC 2 more times, or 1 more time and raid 3 fancy new rift dungeons for all your filthy lucre per fight? Or, perhaps, go back to lunar, discover the whole thing turned into Ruins 2, fight and puzzle your way through, loot some, set up CC, kill CC, and then use CC drops for it?

I like grinding, but if it hide the reward at the end of the grind of grind, only the grinding elites will be able to enjoy it. This is especially true given that this game's world doesn't have a very long lifespan.

I think going through the questline until you get the Celestial Jewel is enough to "an overall world goal" and "require large-scale contribution". If you want more than that, you can build megabases or do other something.

I do that anyways, I'm talking additionally to what I can already do. We just have different opinions, It's objectively something I WILL enjoy.
