From a quick search, I have found that the front facing insanity animation has changed during the introduction of the void cowl:

Which would have been in this update, having players faces no longer show when using the void cowl to fix layering issues:

I assumed that this is a bug and would be fixed, however nearly 2 years after this change and no proper post suggesting it, I have decided to ask about it myself.

When looking at the character sideways, they do have their hands, or hand if holding something, behind their head. Not every animation is the same from every perspective, however to me it just looked objectively better than having them "fake cry" as the title suggests.

I found the rocking back and forth and the apparent pain that the survivors are in during insanity in both single player and DST part of the experience but ever since this update I cannot take it as seriously anymore & I find myself annoyed and almost laughing to myself that this still hasn't been reverted yet. Be it when playing Willow and using Bernie a lot or just in general, I find myself looking at this animation most of the time and from talking to others about it on public servers, most if not all agreed that this "change" made it worse than before.

Furthermore, it is not even stated in any development changelog that this has been changed, making me further believed that it is simply a bug that has avoided fixing for nearly two years at this point.

I hope that I can be heard and that this can be addressed, either by hopefully reverting it and fixing the apparent layering issue that is in place or by at least acknowleding it and putting it in with one of the changelogs that this IS the intented animation and not a bug.
