Im pretty sure he's the only character like that I mean that's how alot of characters that have a strong early end up being. Woodie has always been like this. Wes is this the character. Lol Wendy has this too with Abby not being as useful later on. When resources are plenty. Wanda has this with planar wigfrid kind of had this Webber is this with easier combat but worse resources. Wortox was like this with early movement and soul cap. Thing is though none of these characters get worse than what the tools of the world provide And that's the whole point of a character's power which is to make it easier to access the tools of the world. For a specific downside. I think the ability to swap characters kind of makes this feel unnecessary. There's already a handful of downsides to keep in mind with woodies curse. Sacrificing hunger, sanity, and 3 inventory slots + for idols, tool, and hat, managing keeping or losing your form, getting stunned while transforming, and the forced transformation on full moons. The forms have their own downsides as well, with the moose's speed, and the gooses damage. What's the point of continuing with him if the benefits stop at the mid point? I mean that's a whole problem with the celestial portal itself. It's why I choose not to use it for character swaps. But others choose to avoid that and do it Anyway. You also gotta look at what Woodie was and what he is now. Woodie has always been an early game powerhouse. In that he was capable of doing multiple tasks with only his power and never needed any tools or weapons. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165932-woodie-should-be-able-to-use-jeweled-enlightened-crown-in-weremoose-form/page/2/#findComment-1818336 Share on other sites

Yea but wortox still has a teleport good for any stage in the game, Wanda has that too plus her weapons is only bad post rift since she's hasn't gotten a skill tree yet, Wendy is a whole thing I don't wanna touch rn Webber also doesn't have a skill tree yet so rn he is just a worse wurt with tons of lag woodie has gotten a skill tree so unless they go an change it that's how it is. His moose form out shadowed by later gear, same with beaver and kinda goose. So he ends up just being Wilson with an infinite use axe and an annoyance on full moons (unless you're lunar alined) So there's not really a point to keep playing him unlike other characters. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165932-woodie-should-be-able-to-use-jeweled-enlightened-crown-in-weremoose-form/page/2/#findComment-1818375 Share on other sites
FillerText
To be honest I think Woodie is just way too good in the early game for his ability cost while suffering from his kit not having any scaling whatsoever. None of his perks matter whatsoever later on as they get fully replaced at the start of mid-game. Even Wilson's beard is still universally useful no matter how late you are in the game. You don't give up anything to use his beard for insulation while it also provides you with very convenient revives, and free food inventory slots. YouKnowWho142
woodie's skill tree really should have helped give his wereforms a sense of progression instead of making their early game advantage even stronger, if his wereforms also got stronger as you progressed through the game it would help him significantly to not feel like he's just an early game gimmick 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165932-woodie-should-be-able-to-use-jeweled-enlightened-crown-in-weremoose-form/page/2/#findComment-1818385 Share on other sites
