Steam deck troubleshooting

it is near impossible to play on steam deck because every time you see a loading screen your controls go to Xbox controller. if you do not have an Xbox controller, you cannot press the GO! button to start playing after the character select screen.

i've had this problem for over a year and really hopes klei fixes it

The Steam Deck has a built-in Xbox controller, so I guess you want to use mouse and keyboard controls.

The easiest way I know : go to DST properties (in the Steam Deck menu) -> compatibility. Then check the force compatibility box and choose linux runtime.

If you ever want to use Xbox controls, you'd have to uncheck the box. There will be a download each time.

thanks. i tried using the built in controller before but it didn't work. that must be why. I'll try switching off linux compatibility
