Acid rain basilisk waste of potential

When there is acid rain the player will get ambushed by empowered bats when they have certain amount of nitre in their inventory.

Nobody uses that much nitre, not even Winona. 

Is sad because this mechanic is cool but if is only applied to nitre nobody will experience it. 

Bats are known for eating meat so what if they ambush the player when they have ~5-10 pieces of meat in their inventory.

Great point, great reasoning, terrible suggestion. Just make fighting them more worthwhile, by making nitre more useful. Give it more crafts, it's sulphur for crying out loud.

It's not. DST uses rotten eggs for sulfur.

Nitre is used for fertilizer, explosives, and as a salt. I'm not sure what other uses you could find for it. It's not like there's a niche for salami when jerky is already under used.

My bad. But you could probably find more uses for it, such as a weaker form of gunpowder (such as an explosive trap).
