Chestworth
Last time I left off a cliffhanger yet again with my excitement to make the beautiful decomposers a boss concept- After a week of working on it on and off I finally have my ideas put down on.. paper? text? art? all the fun stuff practically! So Starting this off- after beating the Sentinel (The Mini Boss) of the Truffle Grounds and traverse through the Truffle Grounds, reaching the boss could lead you to a cutscene of a harmless looking metal container filled with a high concentrated teffra soil that has a small mushroom growing out of it. That Mushroom being one to represent the Funguile- (A king oyster) Which could grow to a large size, completely filling the container. Vines wrapping around the container as if they are alive and hoisting this new enemy up off the ground. Introducing- Fungrowth - A Mycological Mystery Fungrowth is a multi-phased boss, similar to the Swarm in how they will take brief intermissions to change the battlefield. The Fungrowth has 4 stages, each one after losing 25% of its health. But starting off with phase 1 we have the King of Funguiles Withing this starting phase we see the Fungrowth swinging his root arm, which would carry some distance with his swing. The second ability is to hold onto the vines and to a slam attack on the ground. Sometimes, Fungrowth lowers himself and instead of getting back up, he digs his roots into the ground to create a disturbance in the ground which shortly whips out roots from the ground. Once reaching the 75% HP threshold the fungrowth will see its mouth extending and ripping apart itself, as the mushroom on top of the container rips itself off and flies out, never to be seen again. The vines hoist the container back up onto the platform it was first on and it will start to grow a new mushroom from the bright purple soils. During the growth time Funguiles will come out to fight you in troves to try and take you out. Once the Funguiles are all killed or if a certain amount of time passes, the new mushroom warps and grows large, the same as the last! Although instead of being a Red Toady or a Blue Toady, it has merged them together to become the ultimate toady! This second phase carries over the simple swipe attack but leaves out the root attack for some more dangerous abilities. Fungrowth will now start to summon purple orbs which will home in on the player(s) and will slow them down, similar to the greater mothball. The 3rd attack it is given allows it to pop off its cap and spin it towards the player, it having a homing affect and eventually decaying into the soil below. Once at 50% HP the same thing will happen- The purple cap rips off and the roots carry it back to safety- With an army of Red and Blue toadys running out to avenge the fallen mega toady. After the intermission the mushroom grows yet again- in its third phase to become a Monstrous Morel! This Third phase carries over the Swipe, and the Purple Orbs of slowness, but leaves the rest lost in the dust. This phase of the Fungrowth also adds a new ability where it can bury its roots in the ground and call Immorels to its aid to protect it from any damage. They cant heal Fungrowth, but they will try their hardest to protect their Mushroom Overlord even if their lives are at risk. Alongside all of this the abilities become faster, with the swipes becoming more quick swings, and the orbs appearing rather quickly it becomes quite the dangerous battlefield. Once you get Fungrowth down to its final 25% it loses its mushroom and yet again goes up to be replenished. In a last ditch effort, Immorels and Rammawhacks appear to try and stop you. Once it musters up enough strength it finally grows into its final form, it swings back down in a rage, becoming as fast as can be. Its swipe attack replaced with a triple swing that carries distance each swing leads to more deadly attacks. With its second new ability to lunge and bite down on a player in its blind rage of defending itself. It carries over the root attack, but does it in two directions rather than one. Finally, after all is said and done, it reaches 0% and the soil becomes all used up- Now What if- What if- there happened to be a second round, a new way to fight the monster you see here, a true and ultimate challenge! Thanks to Imbued Boss Rots, we have just that! Fungrowth goes from the- Fungrowth - A Mycological Mystery to Fungrowth - A Mycological Mystery, Eater of Rot Also that each intermission phase just summons Elite Rots of the variants from before Fungrowth gains some new limbs and appendages. Allowing its swings to always be double swings when attacking. Also that whilst in the first phase, every slam on the ground drops a couple Elite Funguiles to fight. Once in the clear of the first phase, the second one still doesn't play nice Able to do the Double Swings, AND be able to do the slam attack without the roots. It will occasionally throw out the Slowing Orbs whilst its moving instead of taking time to cast them. Every slam drops out Elite Toadys of both variants. Its toad top spin attack us also increased, quickly regrowing its cap after the first throw and immediately throwing out a second one. Carrying over the Double Swing but also carrying over the Slam. The Slam attack summoning Elite Parafools to help fight. Its Root ability now summons Elite Immorels It also gains a new ability to cast a large lighting strike on itself, similar to the immorels. Finally, leaving you with the final phase the beast at the end has a two swing attack, then breathes for a second, and immediately does a second double swing after. The Bite has another delayed bite after. He can also slam on the floor to summon Rammawhacks. Finally- after beating the Mushrooms Madness between all the Normal, Frenzy, and Super Frenzy levels. You are left with the Heart Stones of the Fungrowth! For the first Hearts I cant say what the future hold for them as for them being different- But for the Weapons I could say that each weapon gives the ability for hits to be able to root the target it hits. Regaining the ability after the root affect wears off and yes, it definitely would work for AOE attacks to root multiple Rots. Anyways- Its super late right now, Im gonna totally pass out! So Sweet Dreams Everyone! 6 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/165615-part-3-of-my-rotwood-concepts-finishing-off-my-recent-mushroom-focused-concepts-with-the-final-boss/ Share on other sites
