Boneshrimp
"My! This place is glum. A color here and there wouldn't hurt." LORE: Wilmot was once a normal elderly woman sailing through the tropical islands of a certain place in the Constant. She was kind and loved to feed the various denizens of the sea but one day her luck ran out. Her boat crashed into coral and down she goes, stuck in between corals the poor lady could not budge a muscle out of her unfortunate predicament. Nevertheless her virtues did not go to waste, Two ballphins! Smart creatures eager to help her, they fetched food and pushed bioluminescence towards her to protect her from the night monster lurking out there. Days pass and Wilmot could not escape the coral, yet she heard a familiar voice! A human much like her. A tall man laid down one of the limestone boulders and asked: "Say pal, could i offer you a hand in this trying time?" she gladly accepts his help but what she saw wasn't the hand she expected. Two hands appeared before herself and dragged her to the bottom of the sea. Years pass and the woman is asleep, sustained by mysterious corals and drifting through the empty dark ocean. Suddenly she heard a massive sound, it's as if the moon just fell down. Wilmot wakes up to an alien world with alien powers which may likely be from the very hands that drowned her. Not the ocean she was used to and with barely any memory of her past, she now believes she is an animal of the sea rather than a human though her kindness still reaches those far on the land. Appearance: Wilmot is a strange character from her gameplay to her design, she is a black silhouette with long hair inside a humanoid blob of dark water resembling a dress, she doesn't walk but slithers over the water. On her hair are clips of dead bleaching coral and her face is dominated by large white droopy tired eyes. Stats: - 225 hunger - 150 Health - 125 Sanity Starting items: 3x Limestone Coral, 2x Nightmare Fuel Perks: - Is one with the sea - Paranoid of the land - Can create beautiful coral structures - Friend of the Sea: Wilmot spawns at the nearest body of water connected to the ocean instead of at the Postern, she also can walk freely on water and suffers no penalties from wetness however she struggles to walk on land, her land movement speed is reduced by a whopping 80% and cannot be increased. She also drains 1 sanity per 10 seconds while in land increased to 20 if she is dry. Wilmot is also in good terms with marotters and cookie cutters and they won't bother her or her base but on land she is considered a monster and will be attacked by pigmen, bunnymen and catcoons. Flooding from her "taob" will also trigger aggro as if she was nearby - Coral: Coral builds up near Wilmot's residence over days she can harvest them to craft useful structures and items. Wilmot can also feed neutral and passive sea mobs to obtain coral from them. There are 3 coral types: Limestone Coral, Abyssal Coral and Barrier Coral Craftables: - Abyssal Coral: [1x Limestone Coral, 1 Nightmare Fuel] Standard crafting resource, can be obtained by other means too - Floressence: [1x Limestone Coral, 1x Various Ingredients] This is a decorative item which can be summed up as turf for the ocean. It emits a faint glow which is not enough to fend Charlie. Floressence can be used on the same tile multiple times to spread a fainter tint to the surrouding areas, it can also be stacked and crafting them also grants some decorative pieces that can be placed on water depending on the type crafted. Floressence can be used on any of Wilmot's coral craftables as well - Garocean: [3x Limestone Coral, 1x Floressence] (10 day durability) The garocean is a hat that can be worn ontop of other headgear as well including another garocean that can be worn ontop another headgear. Each Garocean provides 1.5 sanity per minute. Do note that each Garocean has a different design depending on the Floressence it's made of so get rowdy with your artistic talents! - Taob Kit: [8x Limestone Coral, 2x Nightmare Fuel] (300 durability) The taob functions exactly like a boat except that it works on land instead of water. It floods the area around it and slides over it, the flooding also allows Wilmot to move on land without the speed penalty, she also gains 40 wetness per minute while inside the floodings but due to being foot-level this wetness only affects mobs and items on the floor. While the taob passes over any physical matter, water is what you should be aware of. Ponds, Springs, The ocean, any naturally-spawning body of water will impede the taob's path. If there's another taob nearby the unused taob will not flood the area. - Coral Wall: [2x Barrier Coral] (Up to 600 Health) The cheap coral wall functions like a wall except that it can also be constructed in the ocean as well, what is interesting about it is that the rubbery coral it's made of cannot be instantly demolished by giants or similar mobs, it also has a damage cap of 40 per hit making it highly durable against mobs with high single hit damage - Coral Trap Hull [1x Limestone coral, 1x Flint] The hull is a pokered ball that can be armed with any of the 3 coral types and Anenemies, each of these also have a secondary mode that can be switched manually. The trap can be reused after its materials run out - Limestone Coral: (20x Injections durability) The trap passively poisons nearby non-befriended mobs for 2 seconds, dealing 35 damage per second. It can be armed so that the spikes only activate when there is a nearby hostile mob - Barrier Coral: (120x seconds usage) Passively slows non-befriended non-boss mobs passing over the trap by 90%. Can be unarmed - Abyssal Coral: (5x missile durability) Automatically fires a stinging missile at the largest, non-befriended mob in the area, dealing 10% of its current health as damage, subsequent missiles on the same mob will deal 75% less damage. Can be unarmed - Anenemy + Rope: (1x use) Fires an anenemy hook at the nearest largest non-befriended mob in the area, hook then drags a non-boss mob and stops it from moving for 10 seconds, A boss requires 2 of these but it will only be stopped from moving, not dragged. The trap does not consume the anenemy and it can be harvested after use. Its secondary mode causes it to be manually used by a nearby player instead of automatic. - Fountain: [12x Limestone Coral, 6x Barrier Coral, 4x Abyssal Coral, 2x Blue Gems] The fountain floods the area around it, up to 8 pitchforks radius, the fountain grants a 10% movement speed bonus not only to Wilmot but also to friends. The flooding functions like the taob's flooding - Coral Platform "WHAT kind of sorcerey allowed you to build up there?!" - Maxwell [6x Limestone Coral, 8x Twigs 1x Rope] gives 4x Coral Platform The coral Platform functions like docks in the sea but it also has a strange twist: If built on land it will function as an elevated area that allows building ontop accessed by a rope. From under, the platform shows as an "on screen" effect like knobbly tree leaves and the area under it is under shade. Each platform can be deconstructed individually or altogether by destroying their 4 support beams, doing so will also deconstruct anything built ontop. Fountains also flood the platform even if they are below or vice versa Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/164956-character-concept-wilmot-the-patient-one/ Share on other sites
