Honestly I'd love if this brawl would stop but I will say this. 

I can't steal your skill away. Putting two dots in the corners of a skill tree which are fully optional can't take your skill away.
You can go for the gem and torch skills and just trigger late game events early/techless ruin rush, your gameplan will still exist. The option of your gameplan with some garlic sauce will also exist, or maybe if you like pesto you can have that. I'm not your mom I can't tell you what to put on your spaghetti.

I accept that your vision is different, and that you probably don't want to be saddled with the expectations, but being louder won't really change how your words are seen.

I feel like there is a level of valid dislike for it, but as long as there is enough of what you *LIKE* mixed in with what you don't like, you have 15 points and there is a good chance you are an adult there. You can make the choice to not.

You can totally spec around one or two skills you disagree with. I do it with walter. I do it with wormwood. I do it with wortox (Please I don't want to accidentally aggro frogs.)
I adore these characters.
I also accept the whole point of the skill tree is you can appeal to a broader audience by separating abilities that appeal to different audiences.

So simply put, someone yelling they dislike one branch can't take my joy away for the things i like doing.
There are times where tree branch bickering be appropriate still! Like when say, a branch pushes the limit so hard it makes people doubt whether any of the core games gameplay still holds water. Yet... Thats not too often that applicable.
