Some tweaks I Believe Wendy Would Benefit From

Firstly, if you’re going to come under this thread only to say “oh, Wendy’s skill tree is irredeemable garbage and needs a full rework” then do not bother responding to this. I am not about to deal with the same thing that has happened to basically every other Wendy thread here. I am not discussing Wendy reworks and I will not respond to replies that talk about completely overhauling her tree or a number of her skills. I am only talking about the Wendy tree as it is, which (in my opinion) is not perfect, but has potential to receive changes that would satisfy a lot more people. I don’t think any of the skills require major changes, and i simply wanted to propose some of those changes that I think people would be satisfied with.

1. Wreath - the effects are okay enough, I found a use for all of them in my run, it’s a high value skill for one point. It just needs a timer and for the effect to stay on when you switch off the wreath and put it back on, and if it doesn’t already to be allowed to be placed in the picnic casket.

2. Team Spirit Commands - separate cooldowns on attack at and escape, hotkeys for easier and quicker access, and no whispering to the flower (so Wendy doesn’t stop attacking or moving on her evade skills specifically) would all make this a lot better for an evasive Abigail. It would help significantly to let Abigail kite with Wendy without it being a detriment to Wendy herself.

3. Shadow Abigail - I’ve seen people believe that shadow Abigail should just be a permanent double damage and I highly disagree. Animal sacrifices should be significantly more effective than insect sacrifices, at the very least a full minute or two per animal. Obtaining animals for sacrifices is a lot more passive and more interesting than having to collect tons of butterflies and gives use to rabbit traps and bird traps which are generally underutilized to begin with, and would be the best of both worlds to allow shadow Abigail to be used a little more casually outside bosses while being less to manage during bosses, all while cutting down on bug catching tedium and in general being less lame than “bug sacrifices”.

4. Gestalt Abigail - I played a lot with this one a lot and I personally believe it’s completely fine as it is, having used it against cc and fuelweaver to some genuinely impressive results. It’s a reasonable sidegrade that offers a playstyle change that not everyone would be a fan of, and although it isn’t good in the same situations normal Abi is it has a lot of its own advantages outside of boss combat that if you’re utilizing the moondial to use both forms has a lot of incentive to use.  I do not like the recent changes very much that increased its cooldown however, and would like to see it reverted to some degree. Better targeting would also be nice, though realistically it should really only be attacking when Wendy is if the concern is her soloing bosses or whatever.

these are just a few thoughts anyway. I failed to mention blessed sisturn 3 since although it promotes a different playstyle with Abi through unsummoning her to heal her I found this skill to be highly effective against a number of bosses having significantly increased her uptime and giving her significantly increased value before needing to heal her. The healing downside is negligible since it doesn’t affect her passive healing and using spectral cure all against basic mobs is usually excessive and a scenario that her shield elixirs usually handle much better.
 

Those are the primary tweaks that I would like out of the tree without outright making any core changes. I like Wendy’s skilltree and has made me go from bored of Wendy to really enjoying her playstyle, and a lot of boss fights with her I’ve found are incredibly powerful in her favor as she can be incredibly strong in these fights. I don’t think this tree is in need of a rework (even if perennial altar can maybe gain a function, I think most people wouldn’t be unopposed to it creating mourning glories somewhat passively being in the mourning glory line and all), so I’d rather tune what she has, since she does have a lot going for her. I understand it’s a matter of opinion, but as someone who does not play her religiously I’m glad she felt reinvigorating through making her playstyle a lot better, and several bosses pre and post skill tree were night and day while using Abigail’s new tools and highly increased access to elixirs, which were fun to experiment with and utilize to my advantage throughout these battles

i mean, I didn't say at all that the elixirs should work while the wreath is off. i still think the elixir timer should go down while the wreath is unequipped, and i still think the wreath itself should spoil, i just disagree with the wreath completely cancelling the effect each time you take it off and put it back on

i see where the confusion is, ill change it a bit
