"I've been playing Don't Starve since the update with Pets in the game, and I've never had any issues with mods. I've always subscribed to them and played without problems. However, this year, when I reinstalled Don't Starve Together on a new PC, my mods started to conflict. I can't download any mods, neither client nor server, and when I try to join a map with mods, this screen is displayed. I have already verified the integrity of the local files, uninstalled the game, uninstalled and deleted the folder, replaced all the folders with those from a friend, and tried other versions, but nothing worked. Can anyone help me?

Put simply, your friend needs to update their mod list. This has nothing to do with your current files.

The funny thing is that my friends can join each other's worlds. I can't enter any of their maps or use client-side mods. No matter which friend it is, if there are mods in the world, I simply can't join.

You could try verifying the integrity of your gamefiles.

Oh, I didn't read full question apologies. Which OS are you using? I heard there' some issues with mod on linux if you are using an encoded library.

And you could try "Enable Mod Debug Print" in your modsettings.lua in your mods folder.

What does it say in your console when you start up? Does it know you have mods installed or not.

I'm not sure replacing files externally will work because mods might sync based on your profile? Make Auto-Subscribe mods to true in your settings.

In in Data on the main menu -> client.ini you could try making "skip_workshop_update" to false if it's true.

Obs: Each response follows the order of the posted screenshots.
1- My operating system is Windows 11
2- When I open the game, these are the console messages.
3- I've already installed some mods, such as Combined Status, which didn't appear in the client mods bar. I have Global Positions, Epic Boss Life Bar, and the rest I don't remember.
4- Mine doesn't have those two pieces of information. Should I set it up like yours?
5- I just enabled auto-subscribe mods.
6- We're on the same game version.

What happens when you click image.png.811f8e8a34cf6cecc092c51e16d0cbae.png ? I'm guessing nothing?

As for your client log and client.ini, from what I see it seems normal to me. You can try to paste in this to client.ini and see if anything changes though.

If you're using Windows 11, is there a reason you're using the 32-bit version instead of the 64-bit? These are my general settings.

When you go to Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\322330 what do you see?

And lastly what does this screen say for you, does it say you have mods

Yes. When I press the update button, it just pretends to do an update, but the problem remains. I switched to this version just for testing since the 64-bit/standard version wasn’t running the mods (apparently, that didn’t help either).

I’m sending a picture of what’s in the folder path you showed me and a screenshot of the workshop settings.

First probably doesnt work but click image.png.c7dcaa842cd11e006fc4d683c72f0e47.png button.

There are two workshop directories. Mine for Windows are located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Don't Starve Together\mods

and

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\322330

Yours may be located different. Try deleting all the files and let it auto-subscribe for you again.

I looked up some answers online.

I found a clue about what’s causing the error in my Don't Starve! I have a cloud gaming service here called GeForce Now. I decided to launch Don't Starve through this service, and the mods worked—they appeared normally without any apparent errors. In the mod list, everything was in place, including the name, picture, and all details. I believe that within GeForce Now, my mods are working... To conclude, I opened a map, and the mods I had installed were working. Could the error in my Don't Starve be related to the installation location? Before this issue, I used to play it on the same drive as Windows (HDD), and it worked fine. Now that I have an SSD, the error appears. However, a friend of mine has Don't Starve installed on an SSD where Windows is also installed, and the game runs perfectly. Based on the evidence I provided, can you determine where the error is?

I have GeForce too, but because of how my PC is configured, I don't use it. But I did find a post that shows how to resync Steam cloud with GeForceNow. The authorization might be incorrect.

No… you didn’t understand. What I’m trying to say is the following: In GeForce Now, my Don't Starve works perfectly, with no issues at all! Could the reason for this be that the Don't Starve on GeForce Now is installed somewhere other than my SSD? If that’s the case, the likely solution would be to buy a new HDD and install Don't Starve on that separate drive, right? I’d like to know the chances of this working since I’ll have to spend money to test it.

Oh, I see. From what I found, GeForce NOW appears to use a server-hosted SSD rather than your own SSD, which is probably why it works.

I don't believe your HDD is uncapable of using the Steam Workshop based on the info you've given. The reason I suspect Steam Deauthorize all devices is to be tried is because it's possible that GeForce Now may be keeping all that workshop information on the server because it only expects you to play Steam games while using GeForce Now?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-a8cw8GJtA This video shows you how to disable G-Sync for certain applications (the thing that I'm guessing GeForce Now uses to sync your games). I don't know if this would work, but it's worth a try.

I don't have that Nvidia panel.

I want to play the game on my own PC, not rely on GeForce Now. Why does my Don't Starve accept mods on GeForce Now but not on my own PC? Can we find a solution to this? I'm thinking the answer might be that it uses a different SSD than mine...

Alright. I'll think of more things to try.
Steam-orientated (trying to refresh and reconfigure data)

Spoiler

In Steam -> Settings try:

Downloads -> Clear Download Cache

Downloads -> Change Download Region

if using Steam Remote Play, Downloads -> Disabled Throttle downloads while streaming

Storage -> Repair Library

In Game -> Delete web browser data

Disk-orientated (repairing HDD/SSD using chkdsk in the Command Prompt)

Spoiler

Go to start menu and look up "Disk Management"   It could say "Create and format hard disk patitions."

All your disk names are under Volume.

Go to start menu and Run cmd as Administrator

Fix errors on disk (try this first):

chkdsk [diskname] /f

Both tries to resolve paths and fixes errors on disk:

chkdsk [disknames] /r

This works for both HDDs and SSDs.

None of these alternatives worked for me.

I see. I'm not sure what else to try, other than simply trying to reinstall the game (and not replacing with files from another source) if you haven't.

Thanks for accepting my help anyways even though it wasn't all that helpful. Maybe it gives you a better idea what the issue is with your workshop data, though.
