New update and my vision and ideas to Wendy Skill Tree.

Recommended Posts

Hello, dear readers, especially Klei, if they pay attention to this post. Today, I'd like to talk about the current update to the Skill Trees, namely Wendy and Abigail.

Many people resent this update and I can understand these people. I didn't really like this update either. I felt like Klei had no idea at all about the skill tree of my favorite character Wendy(And Walter also not so good). First, I would like to talk about the specific disadvantages of this tree, in my opinion, and then offer a couple of my ideas that may help improve the situation. I hope you will enjoy.

The first thing I'd like to touch on is sistrurn, especially the third skill in the tree. Abigail becomes more human and bosses deal less damage to her (while ordinary enemies still deal the same damage, mini-bosses too, as I understand it). The disadvantages of this skill are that the skill itself is useless. Wendy already has the ability to keep Abigail in battle longer, thanks to potions that restore her health (which is, by the way, with the sistrurn Skill 3 make her regen worse). Also has been added a skill that allows Wendy to create a potion that immediately increases Abigail's level to the maximum, rendering the urn completely useless, making its primary purpose more useless. Yes, perhaps not everyone will want to get a plant for this potion, which is also a weed in the garden, but the fact remains. The instant level increase is much stronger than the passive one from the urn. Therefore, the only advantage of the urn is the regeneration of the sanity.

Next, I would like to focus on Abigail's management, which has now become less convenient. The menu that appears when using the flower in critical situations is very awkward and Abigail's old abilities, such as instantly clicking on it to infuriate her, were more convenient for me, but I'm not giving up on the concept of controlling Abigail in general, I just want to make it convenient by leaving the flower with its original functions.

Affection. Gestalt-Abigail seemed to me initially too strong and stupid, given that it takes away from Abigail's main ability - hit multiple targets, but then, after testing her a little, I realized that she is weaker even than an ordinary Abigail, in my opinion. As for the shadow Abigail, I still don't understand how exactly it is buffing her, but I really liked the old mechanics of killing living creatures to strengthen (in the usual Don't Starve to summon) Abigail. It's brings us to some of my ideas:

The first is for Gestalt-Abigail. Since she is a gestalt, you can add a more interesting attack to her, just like regular gestalts. She would be able to slow and/or put normal enemies or bosses to sleep that are not Shadow or Lunar. Also, instead of a regular area attack, the Abi could aim at multiple targets and flash them with one attack in a row (maybe the Lunar Potion has this ability, but when I tested the update, it didn't work). It was also possible to make it so that the damage of Gestalt Abigail does not depend on the time of day, but directly on the amount of the player's sanity. The more sanity Wendy has, the more damage Abigail does. And finally, this is the aura of restoring sanity in Gestalt-Abigail, It's not very useful, but it's very nice, especially when combined with my previous idea. As for shadow Abigail, I would like to increase not only her damage, but also the damage multiplier for Wendy. This way, players will be able to choose to play only as Gestalt-Abigail or play with Shadow Abigail, I think that would be great.

My ideas about the Sistrurn: Wendy is very interested in ectobiology, so instead of increasing Abigail's protection from bosses with moon petals in an urn, you can add more variations for the petals and many different effects that will not be short-lived, like potions, but also not as strong. Basically, I got this idea from someone, but I really liked it and I also added my own effects options for the sister urn. Moonflowers could change Abigail's damage dependence on the time of day, making her daytime damage nighttime, and nighttime damage daytime (In Gestalt Abigail, they could change the dependence on sanity. If there is a lot of sanity = more damage, then with moon petals madness = more damage). It would also be possible to fill the urn with light bulbs, which would give Abigail an increased glow radius in the dark. Another idea is cactus flowers, they could allow Abigail to restore a passively small amount of health to nearby players (and possibly tamed mobs nearby, lets say Webber's spiders). There is an interesting plant in the caves, purple in color, which is usually not needed for anything. Why not add an application to it? I don't have any ideas, but it could also be put in an urn and make some kind of exclusive effect for Abigail related to caves.

Ideas about managing Abigail: Didn't it occur to you what kind of item could be added to conveniently manage Abigail? The very design of the Wendy's tree tells us - an ouija board. All skills related to Team spirit can be transferred to the ouija board, while remaining the original functions of the Abigail flower.

So, i guess that's all for now. I hope you enjoyed it and appreciate my ideas. Have a good game, don't starve! (Also, I know English pretty well, but I used a translator, I hope everything is clear here.)
