my final general opinion of every skill tree of this update

Seeing all these skill trees, I never found any bad or poorly implemented! well... Walter's first Skill Tree had good ideas with Woby training but super poorly implemented, but at the end of it all I think all the Skill Trees had a good implementation both thematically and mechanically :D, some are not perfect, but they are very good.

First let's talk about Walter:
oh my god, he's a perfect character now!, like Main Walter I feel very, very satisfied with him, I'm glad they didn't want to make him a "DPS character" of the bunch, now he's a good support character and a good character for gathering, exploring and farming. The theme of The Skill Tree is very, very good, it has the abilities of a real "boy scout" survivor plus it is very useful, woby on the other hand I'm finally happy that Woby beats the Beefalos in something, now it's faster, open its inventory while you ride it and a magnificent dash. She is even a mini servant of Maxwell, gathering, mining, chopping, and even doubling food. it's broken? I don't think so, this was necessary for Walter, he was a very neglected character with serious problems (EXCEPT IN PVP, NOW WITH THE SKILL TREE IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FACE XDD). The only problem is that the Skill Tree is somewhat unbalanced in terms of choosing skills, I mean, who is going to prefer a portable campfire when you can heal your whole life with 3 butterflies? Or who is going to prefer that Woby can pick up the items for you if she can duplicate berries and bananas?, But other than that, everything is amazing

The rating i give it is a solid 9/10.

wortox:
Another of my mains! I thought it was a very original skill tree mechanically speaking, the fact that Wortox has to choose to be "good" or "evil" is very nice hehe, talking about the skills, the big problem that I see with the skill tree is that you have to spend points on somewhat unnecessary skills to get to good skills, for example, to get the vial of souls I have to spend points on learning the knabsacker,  which personally seems to me a very bad weapon, it is useful to collect but not as a weapon, but at the end of the day that is the idea of a SKILL TREE, to learn small things and unlock more branches. Overall, it's very good skill tree.

my rating is 7,5/10

Next, Wendy!:
The most controversial of the 3, to be honest, among the 3 skill trees developed in this update I think this is the worst, but I don't think it's bad, on the contrary, I like the things they added... My favorite abilities are Team Spirit and the Crown for the Potions (I don't know what it was called). Although controlling Abigail is not the most op thing in the world, it is fun and dynamic, it can save you Abigail from time to time. In general I think it's a good skill tree, it's not the best but it's okay
A lot of people say that Wendy got a bad tree, "bad themed", "nonsense abilities" and the same problems with Abigail, but I don't see it that way. At first people complained that Klein didn't give her the attention she deserves (EVEN THOUGH THE DEVELOPERS SAID THAT THEY ALL DEVELOP AND HAVE THE SAME ATTENTION), Wendy was already a pretty strong character without her skill tree, so what do you want, a skill tree exaggeratedly saturated with absurd buffs that she DOESN'T NEED or this skill tree that makes her just a little better,  with skills outside of combat and Abigail.
Just look at the beginning of the beta, on the one hand people were complaining that Gestalt Abigail was killing bosses totally without help, after the fixes on the other hand, you have people complaining that Abigail is hard to keep alive. That's why most of Wendy's feedback was ignored by the developers, most of these feedbacks are unnecessary solutions from nonconformists who want an absurdly perfect skill tree for a character that at first didn't need it as much as other characters.
some of these people becoming very rude (not to say insulting)

My final opinion is a 6/10, it has some problems, but it is not the worst thing in the world as they want to see it

also thulecite bugnet 100000/10 best change ever

The way I see it, the skill tree prioritized making her current playstyle more fun, approachable, and engaging as opposed to trying to change it outright, which I appreciate. I would rather improve what makes the character unique than add a bunch of odd utility features to make her similar to everyone else. Nobody wanted to make a million elixirs that took forever to farm for for each fight, and now it takes basically no time at all to get all the elixirs. Letting you reposition Abigail is equally massive and it is really satisfying to utilize her commands to get out of tight situations or to position Abi perfectly. Switching elixirs freely instead of sparingly depending on what you need in the moment also feels satisfying. Wendy received a similar treatment to characters such as Wormwood, Woodie, and Wurt, which all brought out the best in the strong perks they already had instead of giving them a million new perks that don't blend well with the character's base kit. Everyone wants skill trees to add a ton of new playstyles and tben get upset when Wigfrid gets a tree to ride beefalo or Wurt gets benefits from being wet, it never really works out in the end even if there isn't anything inherently wrong with the skills.

What I'm trying to say is that the skill tree finally brought out and highlighted who Wendy actually was to me, which is why I like it so much. Definitely not perfect, but playing as Wendy in the beta has been the most fun I've had with Wendy and DST in a good while.

I’ve seen a mod that allows Wigford to use her weapon while riding a cow. It gives Wigford the ability to mount and dismount the cow directly using her skills, and her blood-sucking ability also works on the cow. Just with these features, the mod has given me the motivation to use Wigford to tame cows. Overall, what I’m trying to say is that there’s nothing wrong with some content. The problem is that Klei hasn’t turned creativity into gameplay motivation but instead has made it into something despised and useless, a game feature with no practical use. Developers have wasted their coding resources, and players have been left with disappointment and boredom. The designers should bear this responsibility, rather than expecting players to adapt to such low-quality content.

I agree with everything you said
Additionally I've seen that people expect Wendy's Skill Tree to fix Abigail's problem with the bosses, as if the Skill Trees are trying to eliminate the disadvantages, when in reality they are just improvements. A skill tree is not the same as a character rework and people apparently forgot about that

hey i'm glad you're having fun with walter, and he can only get better after the live launch :encouragement::chunky: while i do agree that there are a lot of good perks to choose from, you kinda have to realize what kind of walter are you? combat walter? support walter? base building or nomad walter? etc. you can take the entire slingshot+ammo branch, or none at all, depends on your playstyle. and i think that's a great thing. you are either a jack of all trade, or a master of one.

I really do appreciate that it gives her a better chance against bosses and improves her survivability against bosses by a fair amount without making her completely unkillable against them. I feel like a lot of Wendy players want abi to be able to do her own thing and always survive at the end basically like free dps when I feel like you should be punished for not working alongside her,

The only issue i have with the entire tree is not having a good early game hybrid Walter ammo, like an early game dot round, but genuinely he was a major hit

I just use stinger rounds briefly as an all purpose ammo, then get glass in the lunar mushroom biome.

Glass ammo does 51 damage. And you can get lots in lunar biome. It replaced marble for me, it's just way easier than replanting marble trees.

yep the ammo branch was rather uncreative (yet!), but the others are genuinely so great that i'm reminded again walter is not a combat-oriented character, he doesn't need a crutch to make fighting work. the base ammo and new ammo are just there for the people who want it, but not everyone needs it :encouragement::chunky:

If it's any advice, in my beta world I didn't originally invest points in Shadow Rounds, knowing that I was never going to use them in early game and investing their point in something more useful...
After killing the Fuelweaver, he improved the portal and changed skill tree to now do the rounds

if you can kill nightmare pig early, you can actually craft some dreadstone and pure horror rounds before the rifts. every single material is available. you can also kill scrappy pig and then nightmare pig to craft the two rounds again. :encouragement::chunky:

I never really considered that you can make the shadow craft station pre rift through werepig. I honestly really hope there is some way to get pure brilliance pre rift since a lot of the lunar skill trees are really far behind due to how accessible pure horror is

save that for the waltuh gaming tips later :chunky::flustered: i was pleasantly surprised too, and used the pre-rift horror rounds to fight fuelweaver. learned it from the best @Catuna_
