Can Walter unlock Woby's storage so other players can access it?

Sorry if this his been answered elsewhere but I searched and couldn't find a decisive answer. 

Is it possible for Walter to unlock Woby's storage so other players can add/remove items from it?

Was playing with a friend who plays Walter and he was out far from base and wanted to send Woby to me so I could give her some supplies to take back but I wasn't able to as she was locked. I get that the lock mechanic is helpful when playing with strangers but it seems very inconvenient for playing with friends if you can't toggle it off.

It think that feature is coming later, likely when the update drops on Thursday.
