Kacpert25 Posted February 13, 2025 Share Posted February 13, 2025 I recently started delving deeper into the mechanics of Walter's skill tree to remind myself of previous changes to him. And while researching it, I realized that the bonus to dreadstone and pure horror rounds with void cowl requires also equipping the slingshot with a void wrap. And when I discovered it, I thought, "Damn, it would be nice to have a set bonus to the rounds from the lunar side." That's why I wanted to ask if there is still a chance to add a lunar equivalent of void wrap? If rounds from the shadow side have a set bonus, why couldn't rounds from the lunar side have them? The lunar grip could be made of brightshade husk and, as someone suggested, it could prevent the slingshot from falling out of your hand. Statistically, it would provide the same slingshot dps as void wrap. Brightshade grip with brightshade helm equipped could provide additional damage with the debuff from pure brilliance rounds, and with brightshade husk rounds it could increase the chance of root summoning. I hope that the idea will be thought through, because such a change would really be useful. There is so much more I would love to see with them but also there is enough that I'm content with what we have. Given there is a huge gap between the no wind up jelly grip and the silk/void grip where most the game one of walters most interesting restrictions just isn't active or relevant, since the windup grips do provide this excellent balance of: Trying to stop micro enemies too hard compromises your damage, you really want to try to find openings where you can land several clean hits. IE: Risk and reward clearly makes higher risk beneficial. (Since you do more damage if you take greedy extra shots at enemies that are getting dangerously close.) Meanwhile late game makes it so you are heavily biassed twoards one affinity, it would be nice if you had benefits for going both ways. So ideally I would love a midgame spooling grip rivaling the jelly grip, and a attachment for lunar would be nice (Possibly make it a non spooling grip with some weird benefit like a close range bonus? Like your are empowered and lose this empowerment over distance.... But now that I think about it, what if the lunar attachment was a band instead. That would both add value to his lunar allignment and one of his least used skills more useful.) But what we have now is still clearly good enough and I would still enjoy what we have.
