Grove Posted February 5, 2025 Share Posted February 5, 2025 So, this might be just skill issue on my part. But I find soul decoy two to be harmful if anything. Without soul decoy three, it's pretty useless in my experience. Since you're not using it for decoys for aoe, you're only using it for distractions, which means the decoy is almost always getting hit soon anyways With soul decoy three, it delays the explosion. Which has been in my experience harmful, such as in the fuelweaver fight. Especially since soul piece takes a while to realize that it should activate, and a lot of times the soul only moves after a bit, in which AFW has already eaten the woven shadow I wanted it to pierce. Most of the problem I have with this is due to fuelweaver, because Wortox can now transport the shadow pieces easily. And his shadow affinity is also fully locked behind AFW and the rifts. So he kinda needs to do him faster to get access to his affinity. And it's annoying for the character perks to allow you to get the marble pieces fast, and not need a lazy explorer. But then you're limited by the need for weatherpains anyways It kinda sucks that his aoe options aren't strong enough to stop the woven shadows. Especially since soul decoy also delays AFW's movement, making the method of circling him around the arena also harder, and I think that it would be better if characters had character specific ways to counter AFW's things, rather than just weatherpains and circling. Then again this might be just massive skill issue. (Half of this is because Fuelweaver just summons woven shadows right under him. Random tomfoolery is fun, right?) Dingle Posted February 5, 2025 Share Posted February 5, 2025 Yeah, it's a mystery as to how Soul Decoy 2 is supposed to actually help you. I was hoping they'd replace it with something. Maybe better decoy taunt? Doesn't seem like it will happen though. Wortox's tree is just very, very filler based. Weak, sometimes even detrimental (like reaching souls 2) filler. As for fuelweaver, I had the same experience. I was caught by surprise as to how bad his soul damage could be during the fight. You mostly have to be really strict about fighting fuelweaver outside of the ring, before he summons the healers. Then once he's going to summon healers again, drag him back outside the ring. It slows down the fight. There may be a better way of doing this, I have not seen a lot of guides on actually fighting FW as Wortox with the changes. Most people just slowly cheese him, instead. Y0sH Posted February 5, 2025 Share Posted February 5, 2025 The Decoy doesn't even aggro all enemies in a horde situation so it staying there longer is made useless if the other half of the horde attacks you anyway. The damage of it is negligible and the small Delay between it and soul pierce make it feel clunky. Such as with armored bearger. OMEGASCRUFF Posted February 6, 2025 Share Posted February 6, 2025 Legit, it should shorten the duration of your decoy. You're not taking Soul Decoy II without Soul Decoy III to begin with. Also, god I wish this skill would hit neutral mobs. Soul Pierce does, but it's actively annoying on that skill because it's harder to control.
