TaneTime's Art Crimes (Fan character centric)

Hello! I'm TaneTime, a hobbyist artist and ex-game designer. I've been a fan of Don't Starve for a decade, but in the past few years I've found DST to be a fun environment to explore character/gameplay designs.

I was encouraged to share my OCs here, so here are the main three I'm very attached to! I threw these sheets together for ArtFight in a hurry so sorry if they are a bit messy...

This is Wyneer, a method actor who made a deal with Maxwell a long time ago to shed his old face and start a new life as someone else. It happened a little more literally than he might have intended.

This is Wickham. They're a doctor who came to the Constant via a deal with Maxwell to buy time to find a cure to the autoimmune disease slowly killling them. The idea was that their sickness would put a timed cap on their life that had to be extended by treating it with medicine, but then Klei made Wanda a year later and I was like "okay whatever i guess."

My final "I want to make this guy into a mod" character was actually a pair: a detective named Winslow who was investigating missing persons cases, and Tobin - what remains of his deceased twin brother who went missing himself years ago. They are like Wendy and Abigail if Abigail hated her. In the game, the two would swap between one another - and not always voluntarily!

Of the above, Wyneer is my current baby, and 99% of anything I post here will be about him and his masks! He also has a(n unfinished) mod!

The idea behind his design is that he's a Survivor with no perks unless he equips and wears a mask, which allows him to 'act' a different role. This changes not only his perk/quirks, but also changes his speech file and sprites.

I'm currently in the middle of redrawing all of his sprites, so this is dated art of him. I'd love to talk more about his individual masks once it becomes their turn to get redrawn. In the meantime, you can always ask me! Please ask me about Wyneer. Please let me talk about Wyneer.

And he has skins! Ft. some very old art from a long time ago.

He actually has more skins than this but the art is really old so I'm not posting it unless my arm is twisted.

When I'm not obsessing over my horrible son and his horrible mod, I draw other people's fan characters! Here's some art I made for ArtFight over the past couple of years that I still like.

I stopped drawing regularly at the end of 2022 because I have extremely bad carpal tunnel, but I'm trying to relearn how to draw while I wait for surgery! So, I hope having a thread like this will encourage me to work on art/my mod more regularly when my health permits. I'd also really like to ues this space to infodump on the art/design/writing/gameplay idea I have for my modded characters, especially since most of them aren't going to get finished in my lifetime and the modding subforum scares me.

I have a ton more art that I'm sitting on but this post is way long enough already LOL.
