Perhaps I could offer some little suggestions for Wally Chef's future skill tree

If you find any merit in my ideas, please give me a like—perhaps this way, the professional designers at Klei might notice and consider incorporating the reasonable parts.

OK,LET'S GO

I have designed Warly's skill tree into four parts: The accomplished Butcher, More Edible Parts, The Chef’s Cookware, and Ultimate Culinary Skills.

========================

First part:The  Butcher

"In Klei's original design for Warly, he is a chef with a faster hunger rate, and he often says, 'I am also an accomplished butcher' during combat. Combining these two aspects, I designed the first part of the skill tree."

By the way, let me show off my newly purchased Tesla coil lantern.

  •    The first skill tree branch:The Hungry Butcher

             - Level 1 The Hungry Butcher : When Warly's hunger drops below 50%, he deals 10% more damage to creatures that drop food.

             - Level 2 The Hungry Butcher : When Warly's hunger drops below 50%, he deals 25% more damage to creatures that drop food.

             - Level 3 Responsible Hungry Butcher : For each nearby player with hunger below 50% , he deals 5% more damage to creatures that drop food.

"This design boosts Warly's combat abilities and encourages players to engage in combat in multiplayer games, rather than just cooking at home. This can enhance the overall fun of the gameplay. Additionally, the connection between hunger and hungry allies aligns with Warly's character design, making it more fitting and true to the character. Considering that Warly already has a high hunger value cap, it's not too difficult for players to maintain their hunger at 50% or below."

-------------------------------------------------------------

  •   The second skill tree branch:The Cold-Blooded Butcher

              - Level 1 The Cold-Blooded Butcher : "Warly has a 25% resistance to the sanity-draining aura of creatures that drop food."

              - Level 2 The Cold-Blooded Butcher : "Warly has a 50% resistance to the sanity-draining aura of creatures that drop food."

"This setting aligns with Warly's 'accomplished butcher' role—an accomplished butcher should not fear their prey. Additionally, considering that the "The Hungry Butcher" skill encourages Warly to engage in combat, after battles, Warly and his allies are likely to be tired and hungry. Upon returning home, players would want Chef Warly to cook meals to restore health, hunger, and sanity. If Crawing Nightmare were to interfere and stop Warly from cooking at that point, it would be incredibly frustrating!"

That's definitely something no one would want to see!

Second part More Edible Parts

As a wilderness survival chef, Warly can no longer be as stubborn as before, preferring to starve rather than eat raw food. He must now look for things that, while not highly nutritious, are still edible.

  • The main branch of the skill tree: Making do

             - Level 1 Making do : Now, Warly can consume raw food, but the benefit is only 15% of its normal value.

             - Level 2 Making do : Now, Warly can consume raw food, but the benefit is only 30% of its normal value.

             - In this skill tree branch, Branch 1: Roots are edible"Warly has a 25% chance to obtain an edible-non-nutritive root when gathering vegetables and fruits. The edible-non-nutritive root has neither vegetable nor fruit value, and when placed in a pot, it can only serve as filler. Consuming it directly restores only 5 hunger."

             - The meat is edible : Warly can separate one morsel from fresh monster meat and additionally obtain one of the following: a hound's tooth, manure, guano, or rot.Separate one morsel and one rot from one rotten meat.

It's a bit overly stubborn for Warly to refuse to eat raw food to the point of starvation. This design makes Warly more humanized, rather than just a string of code that doesn’t value life. Being able to eat plant roots and separate edible parts from nearly spoiled food aligns more with how a survivalist would act in the wilderness—much like what Bear Grylls does on his show.image.png.869b78954bc975a11bb3976bd5a97cee.png

"Warly, you should eat it like Bear would, or you'll die!"

Third part Cookware Upgrade

Noticing that in multiplayer games, Warly often uses the regular pots in the kitchen instead of his own special pot, I’ve decided to enhance his exclusive cookware.

  •    The first skill tree branch : Portable Cook Pot Upgrade

             - Level 1 Portable Cook Pot Upgrade :Now, the Portable Cook Pot can hold up to 5 identical items in each slot and cook 5 identical dishes at once.

             - Level 2 Portable Cook Pot Upgrade :Now, the Portable Cook Pot can hold up to 10 identical items in each slot and cook 10 identical dishes at once.

"This skill was designed because, in the later stages of the game, players have access to the Polar Bearger Bin and can produce large quantities of ingredients and store a lot of cooked food for the long term. However, putting ingredients into the pot one by one and making those dishes can be very slow and tedious. This skill greatly improves the player's quality of life."

  •    The second skill tree branch : Super Chef's Backpack

             - Super Chef's Backpack :Now, Warly can craft a Chef's Backpack. The Chef's Backpack has four regular slots that can hold anything, four cookware slots that can only hold Warly's exclusive cookware, and four food slots that can only hold food.

"This skill stems from Warly's original design, which suggests that his various portable exclusive cookware was intended to allow him to explore the map and cook in different locations. and he can craft a Chef Pouch himself . However, due to Warly's unique traits, he needs to carry multiple dishes while exploring, leaving no space for storing cookware. This skill encourages players to bring cookware with them, enabling them to cook anytime and anywhere outdoors."

  •    The third skill tree branch : Butcher's Knife

             - Level 1 Butcher's Knife : Warly can craft a Golden Butcher's Knife. Creatures killed with the Golden Butcher's Knife that drop food have a 50% chance to drop an additional food item.

             - Level 2 Butcher's Knife : Warly can use a Walrus Tusk to upgrade the Golden Butcher's Knife, giving it a handle made from the tusk. The upgraded knife will cause creatures that drop food to have a 50% chance to drop an additional food item. Additionally, other items will also have a 50% chance to drop an extra one.Killing a walrus to obtain two walrus tusks is possible, but I'd like to ask Klei, doesn't a walrus naturally have two tusks?image.png.680938507eb654363ed79e5045b9b906.png

Klei, could you tell me the reasonin

And why in the world I recently played, I killed eight walruses and not a single tusk dropped? :frown-new:

The butcher can maximize the amount of meat cut from an animal. Wally is a skilled butcher. This also references the Looting enchantment from Minecraft.

Fourth part super seasoning

  •    The first skill tree branch : super seasoning

             - Level 1 super seasoning :Using potatoes to create potato powder seasoning (resistant dextrin, right?) slows hunger for 4 minutes. Using down feathers to craft goose feather seasoning increases movement speed by 20% for 4 minutes. Using butter to make butter seasoning grants invincibility every 30 seconds for 4 minutes, similar to the special effect of bone armor (butter is slippery, causing attacks to slide off?:wilson_confused:)

             - Level 2 super seasoning :Using Moon Shard to craft Inspiration Seasoning costs 3 health (remember, don't eat glass) and restores 50 sanity over 4 minutes. Using Nightmare Fuel to create Courage Seasoning costs 5 sanity and reduces the sanity-draining aura by 25% for 4 minutes.

             - Level 3 super seasoning :Using Pure Horror to craft Horror Seasoning drains your sanity to zero, causing ordinary shadow creatures to not become hostile towards you, reduces the aggro radius of boss shadow creatures, continuously frightens nearby small animals, and grants you a sanity-draining aura affecting nearby players at -400 sanity per minute for 2 minutes.

Using Pure Brilliance to craft Brilliance Seasoning restores your sanity to full, costs 25 health (remember, don't eat glass), prevents moon creatures from becoming hostile towards you, reduces the aggro radius of boss moon creatures, continuously attracts nearby creatures, and grants you a sanity-restoring aura affecting nearby players at +400 sanity per minute for 2 minutes.

After consuming the food made from these two ingredients, your entire body emanates their essence.

20250201185525_1.jpg.60b30d82fbeb52fc4f24a17fcfed4a9f.jpg:I feel like this seasoning is targeting me.

:wilsoalmostangelic::Seems a bit.

Warly's skill tree should naturally integrate with the two major factions, but I believe Warly should turn them into seasonings rather than simply choosing one faction to join. Additionally, considering the high benefits Warly's food can provide to teammates, I think these two seasonings could also grant other players very unique effects.

This is just a little idea of mine—imperfect, unsystematic, and somewhat unreasonable—but I still wanted to share it for everyone's amusement. If by any chance the developers at Klei see this or even consider adopting it, I would be immensely honored. Here, I salute every Don't Starve Together player and the hardworking individuals behind the game.
