An idea regarding a certain infamous character that isn't anymore.

150 health 150 hunger 75 (250) sanity.

  • Haunted By Guilt (Sanity penalty when fighting sapient creatures, very low starting sanity. Sanity penalty from breaking relics. Gains sanity by making offerings to animal monarchs/Befriending creatures.)
  • Hated by all sapient species (Is actively hunted by the sapient creatures of the constant until he makes peace.)
  • Can reclaim his courage by making amends (Gains powerful features/increases his sanity pool he makes peace with the various factions.)

You might have an idea of what narcissistic cut character I'm reffering to here, but hear me out.
Just like how wurt has a quest about empowering a king, they would start the game hated and hunted by everything. Their starting item is a certain familiar weapon from their old portrait, but they can't use it yet, trying to equip it early on only harms his mental health.

His quest follows him as he searches for things the pigs/powder monkeys/merms/bunnymen lost and tries to return them, things scattered about the most dangerous biomes in the world. Some progress can be made by leaving offerings for them.

By doing this he gains levels of 25/50/50/25 sanity for each group he renders passive to again (or for the first time,) and unlocks levels of his features, plus an additional sanity bonus for brokering a truce between any pair of the hostile species.

The first is getting a sanity effect from nearby friendlies, roughly 1.3 per minute per ally who is still loyal.

The second is re-enabling his weapon, while it still takes gunpowder to fire its effect is changed from a single big hit of damage to a flash/stun on a target that gives nearby allies a bonus to attack speed. The reload is quite long so he can't spam it. Many of his initial dreary quotes become positive versions of his old narcassictic lines ("I will defend my honor"-> "I will defend our honor.") His instrument stops being slown down and sad, going back to its original glory.

He gains the ability to craft alloy from moon rocks and salt, giving a number of powerful utility items such as the shears (Doubles grass and twig harvest rewards.) These are odd (But not unique) for character items in that they are designed to be shared.

The final is taking positive aspects of archeology, learning to preserve what is there instead of breaking and looting things. He has a brush he can use to clean old relics, gaining blueprints for alternatives for them. He also gets a resource that gives him a more efficient means of gathering collected dust, as well as thulecite from the moths.

Since both the game and skins are one time purchase, Klei is running out of money to pay to developers. They should roll out subscription service skins that you pay monthly to keep. This way they can hire more developers and make more updates.

The Character's feet are added as equipment slots (all Feet Skins are unraveled into Spools).

Right after spawning, players are spawned barefoot. Walking barefoot on the Constant will cause various disasters to strike you.

  • Thorns
  • Sharp pebbles
  • Toe slams
  • Callus
  • Wet feet (Rain)
  • Chilblains (Winter)
  • Soles burn (Summer)

Therefore, players need to get "Shoes" to protect their feet as soon as possible. Among the shoes are High Heels which restore Sanity but consume Health and Roller Skates which reduce the player's inertia but have a chance of falling as if they are always on ice.

There is inventory in the Shoes, and pebbles can into shoes while walking. In that state, the player will receive damage and stun every time they walk, so you need to be taken out. As a benefit, you can obtain mineral resources.

New player-to-player interactions, add massaging other players' feet, clipping their toenails, and giving them pedicures. (those must be done through mini-games like Winona's Cachebox). These can also be done to Crabby Hermit, allowing you to obtain Peals without relying on the RNG of heavy fish.

As new end-game survival threats, when opening the Lunar Rift, releases of Ingrown Toenails caused by Moon Mutations, and when opening the Shadow Rift, Athlete's Foot Fungus caused by Miasma.

Webber has six feet slots.

Holy Moon this was an absolute rollercoaster. Bravo!

Remember the tea-dish you cook with honey, ice and forget-me-lots?

Rename it to Sani-tea

That's too sensible. It's now randomly:

"Sanity (no pun intended)"
"Sanity juice"
"Insanity-hurting juice"

There's a world setting for that lets you select a specific one.

"brain-hurtin' juice" and it still gives you sanity

Although I think DST still has a lot of room for development, but he is really a little old, filter and version forest, maybe there is a greater chance in shipwreck and Hamlet, but I am worried about klei now, it is a skin company
