Could wortox's weapon be on a separate branch?

Recommended Posts

The more I think about it the more I think this is the only solution. Besides forcing people to get a tool (not used as a weapon), that they then may not ever even use as a tool.

Knabsack -> Covetous Collector

Seperate from

Soul Jar -> Overwhelming Greed

Before I was more a proponent of just swapping knabsack with soul jar. But this means you have the dead weight perk if you want to get Overwhelming Greed. That's not as bad, but still seems weird to me.

It's like if Winona had to spend a point on a perk that lets her make a slightly cheaper, but half damage catapult, before she could get Portability.

Knabsack would have to be a really useful tool for it to be forced on any Wortox that gets Soul Jar. Which is practically all builds. Currently, it's not even good as a multi pickup tool, largely due to it burning through durability so much I'd rather not use it.

Call me controversial if you have to, but I think it shouldn't have a durability. It's damage is bad at base, the big cost is the 100 souls. I know the craft is cheap, but it's so easy to make that it feels more like an annoyance when it breaks than anything.

I would like to see it have a cost per swing over item picked up if that think that's maybe too overpowered

would make sense to seperate knapsack and soul jar into 2 seperate branches, but then i guess some of the teleport skills on nice side alsol have to get re arranged

I thought it was bad that Reverberation was effectively a mandatory 3 point not-so-hidden cost, if you got an affinity. If you get either affinity and skip Reverberation as Wortox, you're just nerfing yourself.

I never thought of any good suggestion for this, though. I just kind of accepted that you need Reverb if you get an affinity, so affinities are really a 4 point cost, not 1.

I was thinking just a max cap to how much durability it can lose per swing.

Though even then, it's weird that it's a mandatory filler for now unrelated things.

I'm hoping this is just a weird leftover for when the Naughty section was super interconnected. That or the knabsack becomes a really nice tool, worth using the whole game. I'm likely not using it as a weapon much.
