A Comprehensive Set of Suggestions For Wendy's Skill-Tree

Recommended Posts

This will all about suggestions I think should be applied and implemented into Wendy and her skill-tree. I will do this in sections. First of all I want to say that all of these are suggestions that I think are good. I am just here to give my opinions and for Klei to hopefully read this. Any suggestions to anything I wrote is very welcome and I would love to write it. The numbers or stat numbers that I wrote for some items are the ones I think fit best. Again, if you think the numbers should be changed, then say it. I am very open to suggestions and I am here with y'all to help make the Wendy skill-tree really good.

Wraith Wreath

The Wraith Wreath concept is good and has a lot of potential, but most of the potions are going to be so useless and niche that nobody is gonna use them. I have some ideas and changes to the effects of the potions.

The Vigor Mortis should negate the effects of sandstorms, lunar storms, and Miasma (shadow gas thing) from the Rifts in the Caves (in addition to the Webs and Honey). Basically, anything that would slow down Wendy or disrupt her vision will be negated using this potion. In addition to that, the potion will give a 10% speed boost to go with it.

The Nightshade Nostrum has a really good idea. I love the night vision concept and it does come in very handy, especially in the caves or during long winter nights. I think it would be really good though if Wendy gets a small damage boost because of it. It could also be 10% or 15% damage boost to go with the night vision. Also, I really want the night vision to work only in night time because it is annoying to have it when it is day and I don't want to remove it so I don't lose the effect.

The Unyielding Draught should give the player a 60% or 70% damage reduction for a set amount of time. Because, having it to only work once only when you are hit and having to reapply it is really not practical and very annoying. I don't see a lot of people doing this. Having it give a set damage reduction would improve its effect and make it useful.

The Distilled Vengeance should give the player extra 10% damage reduction (70% or 80%). Again, this will much more practical and more useful. In addition, Wendy will also reflect some of the damage to her target, although I think the number should be increased, because 20 damage is not a lot and doesn't make a difference. Another idea, rather than the damage reflected, is to give Wendy a kind of Thulicite Crown effect. It will give the shield that the Thulicite Crown gives and will act the same as if we had one. This would be really cool, and even the orange shield around Wendy would look cool. If this sounds too OP (although I don't think so), maybe we can give it a reduced effect, like it can block less damage than the Thulicite Crown and such. Again, I'm open to suggestions.

For the healing potions, they are pretty straight-forward, although I think the amount of health gained should be increased a little bit.

Generally I think the Wraith Wreath should remember the last potion you had, so when you take it off, you don't have to reapply it. Additionally, I think the potion's durations should be increased a little bit too.

New Ability - Abigail can... use items?

Hear me out, it's not exactly what you think it is. My suggestion is that Abigail can store one item (if non-stackable) or a single stack of an item (if the item is stackable). The item's stored will have their effect on Abigail; However weapons or any damage increases are not added to Abigail and do not increase her damage (For example, a dark sword inside Abigail won't increase her damage). The item's stored will show their effect or side effect on Abigail and those who are near it; However, the effects are cut in half. For example, putting a Dark Sword inside will make Abigail have the negative sanity aura around her but it will be halved. Those who are near her will receive a negative sanity aura at half the drain. (I know this is not useful at all, but I am just saying this for demonstration. You could see how it works with useful items).

Another example, is putting a lantern inside the ghostly body. Abigail would then emit light as the lantern would normally do but at half the light emitted. Essentially, it will be half as effective. Having a magiluminessence inside will also be half as effective (Abigail would move half as fast and emit light half as effective). Putting a garland or petals (For aesthetics, they may be the petals will be in a floating animation inside the ghost) will give a positive sanity aura, and so on. Again, if you think the half value of the effectiveness of items is bad, put your suggestions.

In addition to that, putting foods inside will preserve them by 30%. For example, putting a hambat, or any food, will preserve it for 30% longer and help with spoilage. This is because of Abigail's cold, ghostly presence. Due to this, Abigail can cool a thermal stone down to help in summer. You can also put a hot thermal stone inside to have the effects of heating when near Abigail, but Abigail will be cooling it, but until it is cooled, it will give off heat. Also, maybe we can put restrictions to items you can put in Abigail for balance sake.

Abigail can help in Wendy's Chores

I initially thought Abigail will have a chop/mine command, but I think that would make Wendy too overpowered. A better idea is that Abigail will help with whatever Wendy is chopping, mining, or hammering by haunting. You know how a soothed Abigail will hit targets only if Wendy attacks? And, she stops when Wendy stops attacking? This is the same concept. When chopping a tree Abigail would haunt it to help Wendy chop it faster. If Wendy stops chopping, Abigail will stop haunting. This haunting by Abigail would make the stuff you mine, chop, or hammer, weaker and take less hits than normal to destroy. If Abigail is Riled Up, she won't help in chores and rather protect Wendy.

Different Petals in the Sisturn and Graves

I saw this in another post, and I liked it a lot. I won't go into detail but putting different petals, such as dark petals, blossoms, normal petals, ferns, etc, will each have a different effect on Abigail. This would be really nice and add new strategies and diversity to the Sisturn.

In addition, you can adorn or decorate the graves with different flowers or leaves, to get different results based on what type you used. This would also be really good, if the following will be applied.

Abigail can recruit the Ghosts (Bigspooks) from the graves and make them follow her

Pretty straight-forward, Abigail can recruit some of the Ghosts that you get from decorating the graves to help in battle. Maybe Abigail can only recruit 2 and make them follow her, instead of the 4 you would get if you put the graves near the boss (This would be an incentive for putting the graves near the boss but also make use of the Bigspooks using Abigail).

Abigail should be able to fight nightmare creatures

Pretty self-explanatory and easy to understand, but much needed.

If you have any other suggestions I am very very very happy and eager to read them since, like all of you, I want Wendy's tree to be really good and useful.

This one is pretty nice.

1. The ability of ghosts to move objects is indeed Wendy's characteristic skill worth developing: in my imagination, Abigail is invisible when holding something, leaving only a floating object, like some kind of joke between sisters
2. Developing more tomb related capabilities and decoration methods is also a very attractive prospect for ultimately building campsites in cemeteries
3.I think it's very reasonable to have the Moon Abigail attack the Shadow Monster
