BroGeckon
Hey there former Walter mainers and discussion lovers, first here's my perspective on Walter as character to clear any controversy Walter's flaw is losing health Seems like nonsense to make such in a combat based game isn't it? Exactly! That's why in DST, characters represent classes for the sake of the good game design, it's important to make characters as unplayable as possible in a specific way to make you use different strategy for each one. The game punishes you for taking damage, that's 1/2 of what makes Walter one and only truly range based character. (don't confuse with glass canon class) Woby isn't Beefalo and Trusty Slingshot isn't a Dark Sword. Woby is your distancer in a battle that's compatible with slingshot Main idea: My suggestion is to improve affinity with slingshot wraps, it's quite interesting to think about handle/wrap as of a bridge between weapon and user, especially when we're talking about powerful occupying and possessing forces of void madness and enlightened lunacy Spiky wrap (Brightshade wrap) - +5-15 planar damage when Brightshade Helm and Armor equipped, immunity to losing sanity upon hit, prevents slingshot from slipping out of your hands. "Spikes and oozing paralytic venom, increases pain threshold and improves your grip. I guess it's better not to think why it's so sticky..." Void wrap (Dark Tatter wrap) - +5-15 planar damage when Void Cowl and Robe equipped, improves firing and movement speed when equipped. "Light, satiny and makes you see nightmares... Just like silk!" Quality of life: Pebbles bag - slingshot customization, allows storing balls. (it's extremely annoying to switch and store ammunition especially with Scrappier Slingshot Frame.) Tracking Training - makes hunting safer and faster, Woby follows suspicious dirt piles when hunting. Hunting Training - makes hunting for critters and birds easier, Woby captures moleworms, birds and rabbits alive. (just posting my idea, you shouldn't wait for my reply o smth, tho idk, mb I'll answer in my free time) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162915-shadow-lunar-affinity-walter-skill-tree-beta/ Share on other sites

In my opinion, brightshade helm and void cowl alone would be enough. There is no need to force players to wear full sets. It's about sacrificing not comfort, the more you give the more you get, that's what's called fair trade Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/162915-shadow-lunar-affinity-walter-skill-tree-beta/#findComment-1783642 Share on other sites
_mylilsunshine_
awesome illustration, always love fan art. i guess english isn't your first language since the post is a bit hard to read, but overall i do like the suggestions 6 hours ago, BroGeckon said: It's about sacrificing not comfort, the more you give the more you get, that's what's called fair trade if this is the case, how about giving some buffs when wearing the helmet, and then give the rest of the buffs when wearing the body + helmet? there should be a reward for people who do not want to give as much a big part of using grip upgrades is the increased firing rate. if only the void grip could give a firing speed buff then the spiky grip would feel terrible to use, too slow. maybe both of them can give jelly grip buff as a base, and void grip will give more firing speed on top of it. Isn't that's the point to give variability in customization...? I mean, sticky grips aren't as useful on DPS but that's why you have a choice between high firing speed and stability in combat. If you haven't noticed leveling system on Walter's skill tree yet it doesn't mean that it isn't present, here's current leveling system of ammunition and accessories: Pebbles (17) > Gold Rounds (34) > Marbles (51 but slow) > Cursed Rounds (51 + tentacles) > Dreadstone Rounds (59) Stinger Rounds (25 + area) > Moon Glass Rounds (51 + area) Sticky Rounds (tier I slowness) > Icky Rounds (tier II slowness) Grip Tape (tier I firing speed) > Void Wrap (tier II firing speed) Pig Skin Band (+1 range) > Flailing Band (+2 range) > Possessed Flailing Band (+2 range, + 30% not to waste ammo) Bony Frame (+1 slots) > Thulecite Frame (+1 active slot) There's a thing, Spiky Wrap is a next level Sticky Wrap with additional sanity upon hit debuff nullification to open the close combat Walter. (It's nonsense but mb somebody will find that rather interesting in closed areas) New Void Wrap is about being mobile, high firing speed and +10% movement speed.
