WenericMember Posted December 25, 2024 Share Posted December 25, 2024 Team spirit as a whole needs a few changes that have been talked about to death endlessly (haunt RNG & escape speed, Please Klei it's so close to perfect), but as a whole the skill line is a resounding success, and really comes close to solely fixing Abigail. Attack at allows Abigail to be positioned exactly at the start, and during fights. It allows her to catch faster targets without Mortis, and is a massive increase to her AOE range as Abigail deals damage during the charge. On top of that, it allows gesalt Abigail to retain a forme of AOE, albeit significantly more limited. It's insane how significantly this skill changes the way you use Abigail. Spook allows Abigail to disrupt larger hordes that she can't draw the aggro of all at once, while also enabling her to deal with mid size enemies well, for which Abigail can't facetank normally, but also doesn't necessitate fancy use of the other team spirit commands. Escape, while needing work to be more easily usable, provides Abigail with a significantly more reliable method of avoiding attacks than she used to have, without disrupting Wendy's DPS significantly. It should solve her boss survival issues if the skill becomes easier to use. Finally, Haunt has a variety of applications ranging from niche to incredibly useful. If she gets QOL RNG Buffs, the skill does a lot of heavy lifting in fixing Wendy's utility, and in combo with the Wraiths Wreath makes her an incredibly diverse character. All in all, each command is usable in a variety of common occurrences, and makes Abigail stand out amongst all other followers in the game. It's really what I was hoping for in Wendy's tree, and makes Abigail feel like her contributions are on par with Wendy's own. I really don't think the line gets the credit it deserves, as it's really only one or two QOL changes of skyrocketing Wendy's accessibility and skill expression. At least when compared with other parts of Wendy's skill tree. I also think there are some minor details that need to be modified. The cooldowns for the four skills should be calculated separately. I think the Haunt skill should ideally not have a cooldown, while the cooldown for the Scare skill is a bit too short, making Abigail invincible against single hostile creatures like Bishop or Tallbird. The cooldown could be adjusted to be consistent with the duration of the Scare skill. The animation for Escape and Attack could be shorter, but it's not a big issue as it is now. Its efficiency is poor, and when needed in large quantities, it feels like I'm not as good as turning into a ghost to do it. I also hope that CD0 can calculate independently, otherwise in battles, I almost only have Attack at to use. Boss spawning rng makes sense, but everything else is needlessly painful. It should solve her boss survival issues if the skill becomes easier to use. tbh the "escape" command is the most worrying part for me. yes it need more improvement to ensure that it could become more easily usable, but if this command improved a bit farer, then it may cause new balance issue. a simply command spamming to make an invincible Abi would become another brainless boring gameplay. a possible method to solve this issue is - to improve the invincible frame for "escape", but increase its' cooldown as well. To make the cooldown of "escape" become longer than most cooldowns of bosses' general attack. The key difference between Escape's immortality and Blessed Sisturn's immortality is that Abigail can't attack during the escape command. So yes, while spamming escape might make Abigail immortal, you are completely gutting your DPS as a result, which is a fair enough trade off. I think the invincibility frames are currently pretty good.
