Warly has potential to be the best support character. Skill tree ideas.

Recommended Posts

i dont main Warly but i enjoy to play him a lot in solo gameplays, and no right now warly is not worthless or even weak, he is pretty strong if you know all about food. But i do bealive he can be better at his job, it is hard to make this skill tree for me cause im not a chef myself but im gonna try to make it fun.

Butcher skills.

1.- Lucky strike 1: 25% higher chance to get rare food loot from mobs(like honey from bees, voalt goat horn, butter).

2.- Lucky strike 2: 50% higher chance to get rare food loot from mobs.

3.- Certified butcher: Warly learn to craft and use a hight quality butcher knife, this knife has 100% chance to get rare food drops form mobs only if the last hit its made by the knife.

1.- Scavenger chef 1: every mob that dies near Warly has a 25% chance to drop double amount of food items(like instead of 1 eyeball you get 2 eyeballs from deerclops)

2.- scavenger chef 2: every mob that dies near Warly has a 25% chance to drop triple amount of food items.

Kitchen artist skills.

1.- Your ideal place: Warly learns to craft a new structure that can be upgraded to have 6 crockpots, 1 bigger than normal fridge, one bigger saltbox and 2 tiny places to dried meat. Of course you need get all the materials to updagrade your kitchen with all. (i think of this cause in my experience Warly always needs a lot of space for his stuff and with this ideal kitchen Warly can have a special and reduced place to operate, other survivors can still interact with the fridge and the salt box unless warly lock them) This kitchen have a bar table to serve the dishes to survivors.

2.- Mass production Chef: Warly dishes cooked inside the ideal kitchen gives double dishe(instead of one turkey dinner you are gonna produce 2 turkey dinners with the price of one).

3.- Recycler chef: Warly learns to craft a rot bites, they can be used as fillers for foods and they never spoils.

Specialist chef skills.

You can have all the first 4 skills but if you pick any of the second skills of any branch you can't pick any of the other branchs.

Spicy food(mexican food reference) branch.

1.-Taste for the spicy: Warly now gets more stats from spicy food, like guacamole, tacos, spicy chili, and he also loses less stats from often consuming these dishes.

2.- Chili enjoyer: Waly gets improvements to help him grind ingredients for spicy food(every seed Walry plant has a bigger chance to be pepper, corn or tomato. Now some birds drop beans instead of seeds so Walry can make his own beans plant. Now some seeds planted by warly can turn into habanero chili plants. Warly can grow pepper, tomato, corn, beans and habanero faster and in any season with a special talk technique but these special growed crops can only give 1 seed and 1 vegetable.

3.- King of pain: Warly learns to craft and use a new station that can be attached to the ideal kitchen, this station is the street food stall. Warly can cook 3 new special dishes here.

These new dishes are big banquets so they cant stack in inventory and they use a new really large eating animation to consume it. Every time you eat any of these new banquets the survivor is gonna take out a picnic blanket to eat the banquet.(30 seconds animation). And the new banquets need more than 4 ingredients.

Tamales de rojo.- this banquet gives  80 hunger, 20 sanity and -15 health. It also gives any player a new buff, The warmest feeling, this buff makes Warly inmune to freezing for 10 days.

Recipes: 6 corn,  4 meat, 6 peppers. 2 seasoning salt, 2 chili flakes.

The Biggest Burrito.- This banquet gives 10 sanity, -15 health but restore all hunger. And it gives the completely satisfied buff for 1 day. This buff make the survivor dont lose hunger points for 1 day no matter what even a slurper can't make you lose hunger points.

Recipe: 8 corn, 2 meat, 2 peppers, 1 habanero chili, 1 chili flakes.

Chilaquiles y tacos al pastor.- This banquet gives 10 sanity, 80 hunger and -15 health and -25 health lost in 30 seconds. This one gives player the pants on fire buff. This buff makes the player do 30% more damage(this doesnt stack with chili flakes buff from other dishes) and grants 25% speed for one day.

Recipe: 8 corn, 6 meat, 4 peppers, 4 chili flakes. 4 habanero chili.

All banquets has a cooldown after they effect ends of 1 minut for Warly and 4 minuts for all other survivors. This cooldown is the overfeed debuff that makes you unable to eat any more banquets so you cant change the buff whenever you want, the only exception is Warly cause he has a big stomach and he likes to be stuffed with food so he can change buffs if he needs to.

And to be honest with you all thinking about all the info i need to make this post, im not a master chef. The next ideas i would put if i had more time are the next stuff:

Italian food branch: almost the same as mexican food but the improvemnets would be for warly to get easy electric milk and make cheese for pizza, pasta and idk i had lots of ideas but im short of time and i really wanted to do this so maybe you can complemet this mess sorry :P

I don't like this tree.

It feels like it's trying too hard to add as much as it can, at the cost of said things being very unfitting for DST, not helping Warly be a better character, or just overcomplicated.

The banquets, 1/16th of a day spendt doing absolutely nothing for the sake of getting a buff is boring.

The ideal kitchen is quite literally worse than the kitchen setups you can already build, you can get a 8:3 with human placement and an 8:4 with pixel perfect placement.
The Butcher perks are RNG and forces you to be like "Hey guys, can you not do the final hit so we get more loot" in a fight with the knife. I'd rather it be, as long as the Warly has hit the enemy in the last 20-30 seconds.

Why add more plants when current plants can fill the same role?

I feel like this skill tree as a whole just doesn't do much for him. It could be a neat mod, though.
