Knockback problems countered by Mourning glory II?

Recommended Posts

Seems like the problem of knockback for Wendy has kinda of a counter? It's a big problem as you can't control Abby due to it, as well as due to Wendy's reliance on beef.

With Nightmare Werepig being the key to the new shadow elixir, and he can juggle you due to knockback. Marble armor counteracts knockback, though it may make you too slow to dodge or get on your beef fast enough. Wendy consuming a vigor mortis counteracts this. Hopefully new armor that also counteracts this is introduced late game.

Edit: To clarify, the new Wraith's Wreath allows Wendy to drink elixirs, which provide buffs. Vigor mortis' buff is to nullify speed buffs. If this happens before the walking cane's speed bonus, then marble armor could be used as a safety measure in case you get hit. Allowing you to easily recover and control Abby

Basically, since this elixir seems to combat, I do think the shield elixirs should provide something other than knockback resistance, something I have seen many people offer as something they could do. Distilled Vengeance could provide it as well, but I don't think it should be it's main thing. I think more knockback resistance items that can be used by every character should be introduced, not just making two of Wendy's elixir focus on knockback

i want it BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i really really really really need such things to defend knockbacks

it's really nice to see you have this idea too.

but that might be too cheap.

i think one living log and three mourning glories to defend one knockback would be a fair price.

To be honest, the Marble Suit performs quite poorly against the Nightmare Werepig. You need to evade damage instead of tanking it. With the right speed-boosting items, Wendy can maneuver to ensure her own survival as well as Abigail's (without the need for potions).

i didnt watch the video before wrote thisĀ

Vigor mortis with the mourning glory head item negates the marble suit's speed penalty. So you just get the speed bonus from the walking cane. I meant vigor mortis on yourself not Abby

Knockback will be nullified, but planar damage pierces armor. That's why I said I hope more Knockback resistant items are introduced

I mean dodging is much better than tanking even with marble suit when facing Nightmare Werepig. But if you prefer to tank that pig, emmm just do it.Ā I do not object.

Clarified in the post. Not saying to tank, but that marble armor could act as safety measure in case you do get hit. Whether in this fight, or any other early game fight with knockbackĀ

To be honest, even with speed potions, the Marble Suit still increases the risk rather than providing safety measures. Magiluminescence with head armor offers much stronger safety guarantees. I believe that since you've initiated the Werepig battle, you must have Magiluminescence. Getting knocked back once or twice is really not a big deal if you are not on beefalo.

Eh, personally for me a walking cane is enough. Though I do normally use beef.Ā

I actually forgot the part that I wanted to add about the shield elixirs

Alright, you can use any strategy you want to fight. I apologize for deviating from the topic.

You didn't really deviate from it this much. To clarify, I don't use this set up usually beef or cane+bag+crown. This is just me trying to come up with a use for Wraith's Wreath+Vigor mortisĀ
