MrMyther Posted December 16, 2024 Share Posted December 16, 2024 The Acid-Based equipment has always been rather ignorable - my experience having only seen 2 of the 9 pieces get some use in public lobbies. The following is a list of ideas made for the 7 pieces I never see get used. The Gloop - This set appears to be made for the player to fight alongside and quickly evade acid, to improve upon this style I suggest adding some additional bonuses to these gears that give it some more depth and reward. Head - Additional effect - Any acid you spawn will no longer deal damage to friendly targets, Any other effects triggered from acid will still be applied. Chest - Additional effect - Kills with focus hits will spawn an additional set of 3 acid pools around the initial puddle. Legs - Additional effect - Killing a rot while it or you are standing in or affected by acid will give you a +50% damage buff for 5 seconds, this effect can stack. The Wollusk - This set seems built around the use of dodges to provide yourself with damage resistance at the cost of slowly draining health, the idea of this set is very interesting as it stands and does mesh with many other pieces, however it lacks any way to gain more health required to use it, I suggest giving the Chest and Legs an additional healing effect to cover this. The headpiece in this set flows very nicely with the current pieces, aswell as having potent synergy with a few other pieces of equipment, so no changes are needed. Chest - Additional effect - Increase healing efficiency by 10/20/30% while a rot or environmental object is affected by acid. Legs - Additional effect - Killing a rot that is standing in or affected by acid will heal you for 10 health, and any friendly targets standing in or affected by acid for an additional 5/10/15 health. The Snortoise - This set allows the player to ignore acid entirely, and that's basically all it does, I suggest changing the focus from acid towards general environment hazards, while also giving it some reason to interact with them, still maintaining the risks from being low health. - entities like bombs, traps and iceclouds would be included alongside acid as hazards. The chestpiece in this set seems disconnected from the rest of the effects, and I believe its useful enough on its own to not need any changes. Head - Replacement effect - While active, same 30% threshold, absorbs all damage from hazards, your attacks will mimic the effects of the most recently absorbed hazard. Legs - Replacement effect - Entering a clearing will absorb hazards for 10/15/20 seconds, this duration is doubled for mini and boss encounters, each hazard absorbed will increase runspeed by 10% for its duration. Acid itself could also use an update for how it helps deals damage against a target, the goal being to allow for player spawned pools to have a greater impact during combat, for example non-player targets afflicted with acid could receive an additional 30% damage from other sources.
