Change the combat system! <3

After playing Dont Starve for years, I decided to write on the suggestion forum.
I would like to see a change in the combat system, perhaps making it more complex. (I'm not sure of a specific idea).
One point that caught my attention is that some bosses or mobs have an area attack. It wouldn't be bad to have it in some or all weapons.
On the other hand, they could add a parry, shields or dodges. Something more interesting than just "dodging".

He who does not risk does NOT win! <3


(I also got the idea after having seen the game RotWood <3).

Ps: Fix the way of hitting with the Joystick. It's complicated not to hit a friendly NPC. or order a friendly NPC to attack someone from a distance...

Ps2: Update the Dont Starve Hamblet characters.

Don't Starve is not a combat game. It's a survival game. It's just that it's become geared towards combat way more for whatever reason. Things like the Brightshade Sword and Gloomerang are making it feel more like a combat game because they are just basic weapons.

Combat was always the easiest way to die for me in DS. I always struggled with hound waves. Usually led them into beefalo, but then it happens to be mating season. (Could use wormholes to avoid them and dig graves for gems.) Need silk for boomerang, but have to fight spiders for that. Sanity kills you through combat.

Cold is as easy as wood in winter, which also handles light. Food was always easy. Heat was a little harder. I usually ran around with the fan under trees during the day. (Keeping ice requires gears, therefore combat.)

I should go back and beat adventure mode now that I can kite.
