DVGMedia Posted December 12, 2024 Share Posted December 12, 2024 So i was doing some testing For a skilltree video and noticed that abigails hp did not go down after fighting while resting. Her sheild did go down. but it looked like her max hp stayed at the buffed state. Turns out that this is just a visual bug and abigail does have just her max 600 and the resting is still just temporary. But it still just brings up the question of why not just keep the 1200 max hp. and If abigail dies the player has to reset her at the sisturn. Instead of having to do it every time? I feel the way its implemented now just adds tedium that no one wants. This at least works out for helping abby keep up with the powercreep If she is not going to be getting any form of viable defense. Its not like she is getting the 10k hp bernie is. I mean i don't understand why just going for the simple option of making abigail gain extra levels that boosts her max hp and light radius is a bad thing? People argue that its boring. But like you have seen the things that have been tried and people don't really like how they were implemented. and why certain things don't work as well as expected when you introduce other variables. like potion healing. Just being able to make a higher max level abigail would solve all those problems.... Not only in surviability but also utility. Replace this ridiculous player tag idea by a "permanent" (until Abi dies) health increase. This way the effectiveness of healing elixirs stays the same. And no other skill would need to be reworked for this to work. Something that would just allow her to take a few more hits (therefore helping smooth out Wendy’s learning curve), but not interact strangely with healing potions. This would be even more useful since it’s not dependent on bosses doing different damage to mobs and players. I wouldn’t even need the extra light radius tbh, though it would be comfy. I think the biggest issue is how to achieve a higher max level Abby. People weren’t a fan of leaving her at the Sisturn. It seems like the quest of getting Lune Tree Blossoms is popular, but I’m not sure it would work with this idea. I was thinking the easiest way would be to treat the sisturn like how wortox's new heart works. It only does its special effect based on who crafted it And does the normal effect for everyone else that uses it. So it checks for who is the crafter And only the crafter gets the level bonus. While still providing the standard sisturn bonus to all other abigails. This would mean you would have to craft your own sisturn though And frankly i think the resting portion kind of sucks i would rather it just be if you have a charged sisturn and you are the crafter of that sisturn; your abigail can gain an extra level through the standard leveling process. Honestly it could be both where in order to access the boosted abigial level you need the lunar blossoms but it would only work on your abigail. Idk if they should make it that way or not i feel they would need to. Anchoring Abigail might be tedious if you just wait for her there but it opens up fun possibilities. Like leaving her at your base to help your friends while you go do something else out there. I personally know my friends need her more than I do, and I don't mind "being Wes" for a couple of days. I could leave her at base while farming pipspooks for example. It could heal her faster, I remember the main complaint was that it took forever to heal and she would lose the extra health really fast. Well, if Klei implements your idea she won't lose her health unless she dies, so it's already worth it to wait, but it'd be fine if she healed twice as fast. Still not as strong as revenant restorative. One final detail, you could also anchor Abi to the sisturn while you sleep. Not sure if people still have the "sleep bad" mentality, but it's kinda cute to think that the twins are "sleeping" side by side. Even though Abi can't really sleep. My (non-Wendy) friends really liked the anchoring mechanic, since I have a nasty tendency to dump all my stuff on the ground and run off.
