Limits should be added to atmo suit

Recommended Posts

When the bionic puts on the atmo suit and does not take it off again, the atmo suit will not require maintenance.

Because bionics can store large amounts of oxygen, not taking off their atmo suits has almost no effect on them.

My suggestion would be to add a time limit to the pneumatic pressure suit, just like the lead suit.

Suits are pretty finnicky, yeah.

Lead suits require oxygen and electricity, and electricity provides 200s of thermal protection

Oh interesting, I always thought that yellow bard under lead suits was about radiation protection.

Lead suits are recharged at the same time as they are replenished with oxygen. Takes up to 60s to fully charge

It still eludes me. I've never seen the battery go down.

Both battery charge and duration are still full after use

Lead suits provide superior insulation to atmo suits, but they slowly lose their charge when the replicant wearing them is exposed to temperatures above 66°C. Once the suit is fully insulated, it loses all of its insulating power. Once depleted, the suit loses all insulation.

Oh, that is very cool. I did not realize it decreased based off thermals! (Sorry for derailing, this is a very fun factoid)

Yes, with a slight modification to the lead suit code introduced into the atmo suit, such as a change in duration to 600s, it would be possible to place restrictions on bionics not needing to take off their atmo suits.

not until bionics have resistance to eye irritation popped ear drums and some temp rang (-38c - 90c)

Late in the game, once I provided atmo suits for the dupes, I didn't need to worry about anything at all anymore especially the bionic dupes. I found this to be so pointless. It feels like some restrictions should be added, like putting on the atmo suit for a long period of time will cause the pressure to go up, and they should also be given the chance to relax in a comfortable environment

...Well, today I learn...

What about as a nerf atmosuit like lead suit would need a charged battery? The battery could last a cycle or two before needing a recharge and if the suit get depleted it would give the dupe wearing it a large athletism debuff? On normal atmosuit set up, it wouldn't change anything but would deter the current "equip and forget" strategy on bionic dupe

If you don't like that they can wear atmo suits indefinitely can't you just set up your base so that they go through checkpoints just like the normal dupes? Why do you need them to change the game instead of just not using them in a way you don't like?

Because it is actually counter productive. Not only would I need to deal with suit degradation, but my bionic dupe could actually be exposed to water, high pressure gas or anything from the enviroment.

Them having the ability of wearing the suit at all time just promote lazy game play. Why should i make sure that my base is clear of water puddle? Once my bionic dupe have a suit, it doesn't matter anymore.

If we want invincible dupes, they should at least cost more than 300 kg of refined metal and two reed fiber. The soldering station could have upgrade for bionic dupe that make it so they are more resistant to the enviroment, at the cost that they consume more power.
