Glomglom/Gloomer Skins

Whenever I look at all skins that Glomglom critter has I wonder why aren't they also working on regular Gloomer. Is there a legit reason why they can't just work in a way similiar to Spear and Ice/Fire staff sharing same skins even though they are quite different things? I think that Gloomer was always a quite cool thing to have in your base with his ability to produce healing goop, spawn Krampus and raise sanity, but with updates to farming and things like Tree Jam requiring goop he actually became a must have for most bases at least in my playthroughs. Will there ever be a day Klei makes us able to change Gloomer into for example Bearded Dragon, just like we can do with Glomglom?
