Radicaljoe
I feel like next patch Will be Walter oriented, Wortox's seems complete, they seem nearing the end of Wendy fixes, so surely our favorite Canadian camp scout will get the spotlight next. (also he has the least amount of skills rn, so I feel they had to think of more skills which might have put him on the back burner) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/161747-walter-is-extremely-underdeveloped-and-its-getting-worrying/page/2/#findComment-1768074 Share on other sites

There have been a lot of Walter discussions and suggestions lately, and Jason even responded in a thread asking if Wendy is taking up all the development effort, which is very promising. We as a community could keep up this pace and maybe Walter will be whole when his tree is official. The craft is now prototyped so its easier to mass produce, with the slow rounds the tentacles hit waaay more than before, and now it does more damage than a dark sword because of the faster attack speed. When it comes to post rift if you choose lunar path of course you should change it to husk rounds, but for shadow path the "cursed + horror" combo is hard to "master" but does some really good dps. Oh i think you are miss understanding what i meant by it being viable, i LOVE how strong and cheap thulecite rounds are, my issue is how every other ammo type is like miles more expensive and hard to obtain so all those other round types being straight up worse or at most COMPARABLE to thulecite rounds is kinda ridiculous to me, thulecite rounds are in a perfect spot rn the issue is that its the best thing for Walter and it costs a fragment and a nightmare fuel, pure horror rounds should straight up be better since they are a million times more expensive, and same goes for dreadstone, pure brilliance and brightshade 1 hour ago, MisterBilly said: My apologies I do not wish to be rude, but I believe a lot of what you said to be very silly. In fact, the only thing that I fully agree with is the sticky grip being terrible. I am only going to address your statement about the scrappy frame and the honey ammo. The honey ammo, (and the stinger rounds by association) are good because they are extremely cheap and easy to make; in contrast to the very expensive slow-down rounds (requiring a purple gem), and the moon glass rounds (which require going to the moon island, cheap to make but you have to go out of your way). The scrappy frame is significantly better then it's thulecite counterpart, being that you can acquire one easily on day 1, and it's special attack while not flashy or cool, is very good as it doubles the damage and let's you fire from very far away. You can effectively clear ruins on day 3, and kill ancient guardian easily with the scrappy frame, without spending a great deal of resources or even having any armor. I am sure you have your reasons for concerns, but tiered ammo systems aren't that awful. At worst, you're spending an idol later in the game to respec into being able to use the better ammo. Im not saying honey rounds, stinger rounds and scrappy frame are bad by themselves, they do their job and are actually pretty cool, my issue is from a design stand point, stinger rounds should NOT be their own skill, they are useful and cheap but why is it a skill point when you could do SO many more things with those, it just reeks of wasted potential and bloating Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/161747-walter-is-extremely-underdeveloped-and-its-getting-worrying/page/2/#findComment-1768103 Share on other sites

No he definitely had the summons at base and I'm pretty sure he also had the sleep shrooms but they made him groggy originally they did flip his skill progression paths though. he didn't have the original bramble skill though let alone the brambleshade armor Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/161747-walter-is-extremely-underdeveloped-and-its-getting-worrying/page/2/#findComment-1768129 Share on other sites

Umm, the numbers on multiple skills were pretty heavily adjusted in the first two updates for Wortox. Wendy's updates clearly have no concern for the numbers, either. But that's okay. We can just lie on the internet. Grinek
Hold on bro's onto something This might be the first good walter post ever I totally agree with you! The stinger rounds are just useless cuz you can just rush lunar and get the moonglass ones which are 1000x times better, i thought stinger rounds could compare to wormwood's bramble husk armor which we all know i was wrong... all the "end game" rounds are just straight up useless Basically thulecite rounds (easy to obtain) > end game rounds + dreadstone (not that easily obtainable unless you want to dupe dreadstone for ranged dark sword) i have no problem with more ammo projectiles glommer goop grip is sooo useless just keep ur stuff in the backpack (i know this is still beta but i wish they added more bands, grips , etc. ) About the Woby stuff : yeah, pretty much is just useless except digging (maybe because you don't get any special reward from the rest) about fetching when i heard about woby collecting stuff from the ground i thought it was going to be like the lazy forager in animal form ,kinda wish woby could pick up items without walter's interaction with them, like him giving command to woby which items to pick. And i don't really think they gonna turn woby into a "better beefalo" seeing how their work goes around this character........ Things i wanna see in walter's skilltree : pioneer hat buff this item NEEDS a buff it becomes useless on late game maybe some tent changes cuz it's really forgettable and i never seen anyone actually making one (except me). also purple slowdown rounds for the win! viblym
Everyone trying to say that OP is being dramatic about focus concerns for Walter are missing the context we've had since the last few skill trees where Winona and Wigfrid were sidelined in favor Willow and Wurt who overwhelmingly got more attention and patches. There's scarcely a difference between Winona and Wigfid from when the beta started to what we have in-game now. It's a trend that keeps occurring, we're already over two weeks into this beta and next to nothing has been changed about Walter. The purpose of the beta is to express feedback and concerns for upcoming content so it can be made better. Max has been overwhelmingly thorough and polite about their thoughts on the matter, and is not being hostile to Wendy or Wortox players on the precedent that those characters are retrieving more attention. Be respectful of each other's opinions.
