Wendy players need a more interesting skill tree than another Wolfgang.

You should be lucky that it's me and not some crazier people. The Chinese community has reached the limit of its patience with this year's update.

Patience? About what? The free update that u guys getting that they trying their best to make it pleasing for everyone? Wow. Try respect, it solves this anger issues about a 2D character so u dont cross the line.

The average salary in China varies depending on the city and industry. As of 2024, the average salary in Mainland China is above ¥350,000, which equates to approximately $50,400 USD per year (pre-tax). However, the average salary in 38 Chinese cities was $1,430 USD per month in Q2 2023.

More people doesnt really means more revenue if comes from countries with lower salaries or from communities that waste their money on unoficial skins from modders that dont respect copyright.

Maybe they should only listen to Finland, dont you think?

Hi. Every day I’m checking the news about Wendy’s skill tree. I’d like to share some sugesstions that I consider important. But, since there are a lot of discution about if Wendy is OP, weak, main, for skilled or newbies, etc., I should say I’am novice with Wendy and I don’t even finish DST. But I love the game and play at least every weekend.

After clarifying the above, I believe Wendy’s skill tree could be mainly have skills for utility and, in second instance, on offensive/defensive (O/D), using mourning glories as raw material and focus more in O/D for Wendy instead Abigail.

First, my assumption about a skill tree (based on other games) is that the skills mainly help the player (character) to easily achieve the game goal, but there are not primordial or necesary to end the game. Second, often the skills are related to the character personality or background, and some of those could be additional instead only O/D. E.g., Wendy likes art, so a skill could be paint for increase sanity.

I’ll try to resume my suggestions by main type of skill:

GRAVES
First, I know “Final resting place?” is useful but I feel is not according with Wendy’s personality. In the fandom says Wendy has a skull in the game files. So, thats why I strongly believe Wendy could have a skill for being a grave keeper and bury bone shards for make graves renewables.
In addition, according to the fandom Wendy has skills on spiritualism, despite she failed to revive her twin (because she died under mysterious circumstances), maybe now she can be able to revive any one else by using a Green grave and telltale heart or candles and a spirit board. 
My sugesstion is: Craft a green grave site able for resurrection to any character, that requires a telltale heart bury inside by one player, and activating by haunting. These graves will spawn a randomized number of Evil Flowers growing near them. “An animation of the characters bursting out of the grave like a horror film will be cool.”
•    Materials: Living Logs x4, Mourning Glory x4, Shovel x1.
•    Resources after use. Log x1, Nightmare fuel x1. 

DARK PETALS
In addition to convert petals to dark petals (which is consistent with Wendy), she should be able to perform basic magic (magic herbology), since she is Maxwell’s nieces, at least farming nightmare fuel from dark petals. And, combining magic with ectoherbology (ectoherbology lab), she (I insist) could be able to craft new potions, similar to mad scientist lab, but based on plants. 

VENGEFUL GHOST
In addition to this skill, there should be an addtional skill to craft an elixir to activate again the vengeful ghost on one ghost character (combat/army ghost). 

STRONG BREW
In addition to the current skills, there should be a skill to use two elixirs on Abigail (Twinxirs) and new elixirs with temporary elemental effects like burning, freezing, ligthning, shadow (to fight agains shadows) or enlightenment (to fight agains gestalts). 

PIPSPOOK QUEST
I sugesst only two skill points for this. Merge pipspook quest I and II and keep the pipspook quest III.

TEAM SPIRIT
Regarding team spirit skills, I would like to have a new way to explore, something like using Abigail to fly around in invisible mode while Wendy stays inmobilized. The link will break if Wendy is attacked or damaged and Abigail will return to her flower.

As a novice, I don't like when Abigail dies while fighting a big boss. Now, we have a way to retreat Abigail into the sisturn as a way to protect her.

But, maybe there could be an Elixir or a new mechanism for a long distance attack for Abigail, something like an ectoplasmic projectile.

BLESSED SISTURN

For this, I would love to have a Sisturn with light (when full), at the same time this improves Abigail light (fits good in Blessed Sisturn II). Also, a Sisturn that healing (something like 4/min) will be cool.

SHADOW AND LUNAR

As I said, I'm not enough experience for this skills.

Before Beta, this was my design for Wendy skill tree. Just sharing cause I like the flower shape conception. Hope klei consider this, but that is vanity.

My apologies, dude. English is not my native lenguaje and I just feel enthusiastic about Wendy skill tree. I'll try to manage my thoughts.

Ok at first I wasn't convinced but this other dude in another post was so obnoxious about this point that it made me realize, yeah, gestalt Abi really needs to be reworked. In case you don't know, the Chinese community generally are against unofficial skins, but they cannot simply dox those people and visit them with a nice punching cause it's against the law.

And, forgive me but I fail to see the connection between average salary and how much klei earned from chinese players. Bolder's Gate 3 had 40% (or was it 30%) of its sales come from the chinese players, in Elden Ring's case it's 25%. If you want to refute his point you should list how much % klei earns from each country.

My Dear Fellow…Klei isn't doing the updates for Free, it's a company that aims to profit, not aims to do Charity. It's a customer-producer relation, so don't feel so…I dunno, like people owe klei for these updates? You paid for it, I paid for it, everyone playing the game paid for it, and everyone have a right to express their dissatisfaction.

You spent money on the game, but I didn't force you to buy it. You bought the game voluntarily, so even if you bought it, you are not eligible to comment.

Saying that because you have more vocal importance just because you spend more money on a game is probably the most braindead game topic, the same as saying a game needs to make a certain culture happy...

People have to realize that the world just doesn't work only for them, but we live in a society (funny meme inserted) and we have to listen to other's opinions and respect their own view on the case.

Don't agree with them, then make an argument and argue with them but please don't say random things to just prove you are right.

You are not gaining anything from winning a stupid argument under a post with a couple of people.

These threats were anything but subtle tbh.
From saying that Klei needing to fire developers, completely rework skill tree and endorsing monetary boycott over this update.

Excuse me, but that only makes Chinese side of DST community seem like an entitled spoiled child that throws tantrum over most basic inconveniences. Using these threats to enforce change to games is very unhealthy for both devs and the community alike with the added danger of this method becoming a norm in the future.

I know there's a lot of people who dissatisfied with the skill tree but this is simply ridiculous. I yet to understand what is wrong with her skill tree because it's completely in-line with other official rather plain skill trees filled with straight buffs with no cost, QoL and random features.

Her skill tree is only slightly better than Wolfgang and Wigfrid's, the latter two being some of the most boring skill trees in my opinion.
