A Pufferfish
Preamble: I am completely aware that, as far as I'm concerned, at this point in development, it is illogical to replace the Knabsacker. I am mainly making this post for fun to share an idea I had and to maybe inspire others to suggest their own ideas more than they already have. If you have any suggestions or edits for my proposal, please share! I'd love to hear it! onto the Soul Robber! -=Design=- Unfortunately, I am not a great artist outside of pixel art & 3D models, so I'll have to describe my idea as best I can. Starting at the base of the Soul Robber, the bottom of the shaft has a nub, similar to the one at the bottom of the Goats-head cane skin, except colored to be more of a ruby color. Moving up to the shaft, I wanted to keep the horn idea from the Knabsacker without it being obvious, so I'm imagining it to have engravings that make it look similar to one of Wortox's horns, but minus the curling bit, maybe a little darker. The top has a red gem facing towards the camera, so you get a view of the top of it. This current design is what the Soul Robber would look like without fuel, or if you aren't Wortox and wielding it. When fueled and handled by Wortox, it would have a scythe blade that has a moving soul-like texture to it, using the same color as souls are. -=Mechanics & Damage=- The Soul Robber has a few different mechanics. I'll start with its base functions and then how it is affected by other skills. The Soul Robber, when crafted, starts at 100% durability (with a durability of 200 uses). In its normal form, it does 34 damage per hit, nothing special, the same as a spear. When its durability reaches 0, however, it does not break, but the scythe blade disappears and is little more than a glorified stick; it does the same damage as your fist, making it useful if you want to get butterflies without using your bare hands, but not much else. To refuel the Soul Robber, you need to use Souls. Each soul refills 10% durability, so 10 repairs it completely. Any percentage above 0% will bring the Scythe blade back (given you are playing as Wortox). To bookend the Mechanics & Damage section, I will now go over how other skills affect it. Covetous Collector does what it does to the Knabsacker, so the damage at maximum will boost to 68, mirroring a Dark Sword. Shadow Harvester is where the Soul Robber shines; with Shadow Harvester active, you will be able to upgrade your Soul Robber using Dreadstone (available pre-rift via Cracked Pillars). It would take over for the Shadow Reaper's abilities as they currently are, allowing your affinity to be utilized pre-rift. This upgrade makes both of the nub on the Robber to be made of Dreadstone, and to encrust the red gem with Dreadstone. It also grants the same particles given by the Metheus cane. The recipes for the Soul Robber would be as follows; Soul Robber (Un-Upgraded) 10 x Souls 1 x Red Gem 1 x Spear Soul Robber (Upgraded) 1x Un-Upgraded Soul Robber 2x Dreadstone 3 x Souls -=Closing Notes=- My original reasoning for writing this was to create a hypothetical weapon that replaces the Knabsacker, which I feel is a little lackluster. I remembered a common complaint was there isn't much to do pre-rift with your affinity, so I thought this could be a fun way to fix what I dislike about the Knabsacker, and to create a weapon that would be useful early game, providing what is essentially a refuel-able spear, and useful late game with an alternative to a Dark Sword. I'd love to hear thoughts and feedback on this little creative exercise, and I appreciate you for reading my ideas!
