Wendy's Skill Tree: Addressing Issues with Boss Fights and Shadow Creatures

No, having Pigmen and Catcoon be hostile towards him.

You have to take the nice branch to get this. I'm pretty sure you lose out on his AoE skills if you do. (3 more points spent in nice than naughty. Haven't checked what that gets you.)

So you've got the perks intended for multiplayer, but you're recruiting pigs with the implication that nobody's around to recruit them for you.

Yeah I made a post about this before. Going that far into Nice severely limits your build options. You can basically get the catcoon thing, but have to either get NO soul damage abilities (they are locked past 5 points) OR you can't get shadow/lunar affinity.

So yeah, saying "wortox no longer gets a downside" is a pretty big exaggeration.

That and he still gets half of all stats from food.

I should address this, this was not something I think we said in the stream, that the tree was designed weak because she was strong. If it was understood that way, then I didn't explain that well.

I did say earlier that Wendy was "undertuned because she is strong". Tuning and design are different categories to me. We are aware Wendy has a harder time late game with bosses. The strength I was talking about is how good Abigail is in the early game. Many of the challenges of late game are ones you choose to do. We have given a number of things to help there. It's very likely they still need tuning.

She was also under-tuned because of the notion that it's harder to take things away than to give them. It's just a general idea I fall back on too hard sometimes.  ;)

Yeah, that's my bad, I corrected myself in a later response.

sad that attack at doesnt make abi stay where you command her to stay at (if there is no mob there i mean), cuz that'd actually allow you to strategize and plan her positioning a bit away (and occassionally run in for a gestalt attack or attack for the vex effect), or somewhere with mobs she needs to deal with

Yeah the skill needs reworks, but that's what the intention is going by description.

@WenericMember Listen, I'm sorry for my dismissive and accusatory behavior earlier. I was upset because you brought up a very valid flaw in my suggestion, which I would've happily discussed finding a solution for if i was confronted about it much, much earlier.

The thing is, it isn't really your fault; i just unjustly snapped with you. Truth is, I've been becoming increasingly annoyed seeing everyone else engaging in conversation regarding their own suggestions (or off-topic complaints in some cases), even having Klei themselves respond occasionally. Meanwhile, no one discusses with me about my own suggestions; I do get reactions and maybe a comment from time to time that shows that people are interested, which I do appreciate, but I don't feel like it's enough to make an impact. I irrationally feel bad bumping and advertising my own suggestions frequently, even if to engage in conversation and iron out my ideas, even though others are okay with doing so shamelessly.

Point is, I shouldn't have reacted that way towards you, no matter the case. I cherish your input, for you are really the only one who engages with me.

Thanks, I do appreciate it and I did probably did take it too personally to begin with. I will say though, it doesn't matter that much if there's a problems that need to be ironed out. Klei rarely implements more complex ideas 1-1. For example, the forum suggestion of "let abi use two potions at a time" became "alignment potions don't take up the regular potion slot." So even if the initial idea has flaws, Klei won't discard it because of that.

Lets face it, probably 90% of the big ideas proposed in this forum would be unbalanced if implemented 1:1.

It's suggested to give Wendy herself a skill to attract hatred, similar to Bernie's. For example, something like a little girl's shout or provocative actions like throwing stones. adding a skill that attracts hatred without occupying public CDs can improve fault tolerance

In the boss battle, force the hatred on Abigail to Wendy, and players can use skills that attract hatred and team spirit to pull the boss

Although the core issue has not been resolved yet: there is not much improvement when facing bosses with AOE,

But it has gone further, at least in multiplayer mode, Wendy has a new positioning as a tank to protect everyone
