adoring this beta, love ya as always klei. specifically enjoying the wortox skill tree; i've always loved him so im having a blast. I just got one complaint really, the affinities need some extra pre-rift stuff.
 

currently, the affinities only take effect after the final bosses (excluding the 10% damage and defense increase all affinities have). many people in my circles including myself think this is not the bestttt. you either need to respec later with portal or suffer with an essentially useless skill for most the game. sure, i guess you COULD go lunar for more damage on the nightmare creatures that tend to pester him but i feel there should be more to it.

unfortunately i dont have many ideas personally that i especially like for what pre-rift effect the affinties could have. maybeee for shadow a weaker/smaller aoe and lower damage increase for the knabsack? but that would need would need another thing methinks because knabsack is another skill, not basekit. souls from nightmare creatures???? lunar i have zero friggin clue. friend gave me the idea of halved damage when a soul echo is ready when not wearing the brightshade gear on but im not personally too on board with it. go wild in the comments with ideas, id love to hear it.

also another note ive seen, the affinites seem just kinda random in general. dont get me wrong, theyre cool and i enjoy em, but i expected more soul-centric stuff. just an optional note though, i dont really care that it fits or not though, but its something ive seen. 

Seems like for a lot of characters now, the developer intended design is to use the celestial portal to "respec your build".

Cant speak for them but that seems to be the direction they took. I don't mind it personally, as I tend to switch characters a bunch anyway in one world.
