Making custom items?

I'm struggling to try and figure out how the coding works in dst. I struggle to grasp something without photo examples. In particular I want to be able to make my character reliant on the Mad science lab and have custom "experiments" aka flasks since she's not very powerful on her own. If anyone is willing to walk me through it I'd appreciate it!
