blakemw
The Mechanical Surfboard uses 2 kg of water per use, on Ceres this makes it very hard to stop the water freezing in the storage even if the water comes in quite warm, there just isn't enough throughput of water unless a great many dupes are using it so the water in the storage keeps getting colder over time until it freezes. Furthermore, it doesn't make much logical sense that the usage is so low, especially for a building that recycles water. It would entirely make sense if it used 2 kg/s (e.g. about 60 kg per usage) considering its nature and animation, and also balance-wise that it's a trivial water recycler. This would also be more in line with the Sauna, which uses 25 kg of Steam per use, and isn't a trivial recycler. SGT_Imalas
It does not "use 2kg per use", that's just the amount that splashed outside of the machine Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160246-increase-mechanical-surfboard-water-usage-or-insulate-the-storage/#findComment-1753378 Share on other sites

I measured it to actually pull only 1.5 kg from the pipes per use if the Dupe uses it for the full duration, this matches the 50 g/s of spillage multiplied by 30s usage time. This is not better though! But as I said in the title, Insulated Storage would also solve the problem on Ceres.
