Rovers.. they are good.

Underused, but really good.

The rover/johnny5 head piece is well deserved. Img compression is harsh, but can you spot its coworkers?

 

 

Edit: the operation was a great success! After redesigning the tank in order to make it rover-proof, everything went swimmingly. A dupe excavated the obsidian platforms on the surface to provide the rovers with building material, then, once the left side was drained, dug out some tunnels to let the rest of the magma flow.

I should have built a tunnel from the POI to space, to avoid the current sour gas atmosphere. It's only milligrams per tile, but it's gonna take some time to return to vacuum and dupes cannot work in that atmosphere without instantly taking damage.

The whole operation took 36 cycles and 7 rovers.
