Maybe you only experience the shadow sanity drain a lot when you directly touch the shadow stuff as with the void gear stuff I think you’re just touching the fabric part. Though the lesser sanity drain might just be there as a small quality of life perk. I think they added such low drain because, since the enlightement mechanic is underdeveloped and implemented in a way that complicate the interaction with it, they couldnt give a proper downside to the BS gear Another reason to rework the enlightement mechanic... So to keep it fair to the void gear they added a lower sanity drain to it to balance the fact there’s no downside to bright shade gear? Iirc they had higher sanity drain in the beta but they reduced it because the BS gear was miles better since they can't add a proper downside...
