Deerclops spawning mechanics

Hey there, 

 

I'm currently working on some Don't starve vanilla & RoG speedrun categories, mainly boss runs. 

 

As you may know, most boss runs in the game are played using Woodie in order to skip days faster. I recently found a way to optimize this strategy by using marsh tentacles, which allows me to skip ten days in less than 8 minutes when played perfectly ; however, this seems to interact with deerclops and spider queens spawning. I spent several runs skipping the whole winter without getting any of them. 

 

Can you give me more information about how exactly deerclops is spawning ? Do you think the werebeaver skip can mess up with it, or did I just get very, VERY unlucky ?
