What's next for From Beyond?

When taking root was first revealed, the description given about the "endgame content" was as follows:

Quote

While Taking Root introduces some new items, abilities and creatures, the full depth of how this will all play out can not be seen immediately. This means that the balance of these items are focused around upcoming content and not necessarily intended to be direct upgrades to existing content. Since the end game portion of From Beyond is being split into 3 parts, the balance is being designed with that upcoming content in mind.

Initially, It was thought this meant there would be 3 main updates, but we're now 5 updates in to From Beyond and it doesn't look like we'll be done anytime soon. So what does this mean for from beyond both Lore & Gameplay wise?

I think it's obvious that "parts" at this point refers to the rift types. Presumably, Shadow and Lunar are two of these parts, which leaves a third part that hasn't been touched yet. I think there's two options for this, lore wise, this could be an "unaligned" route, involving sharkboi and werepig, especially as they've hinted to be involved in future content.

Alternatively, this could be a Hybrid rift, like how the Lunar grotto is exposed to nightmares and gesalts. While this would likely require its own dedicated location like the lunar island/ruins, as it would otherwise interfere with the existing rifts, I think this is the most likely outcome.

Aside from that, I don't think From Beyond will conclude until all characters have skill trees. Presumably, whatever the climax of the arc is, it will be heavily related to a characters alignment, so it would be weird for some characters to just... not have that upon the last updates release.

Finally, once the arc is completed, I think it's possible Wagstaff & Charlie might be released as playable survivors. They obviously aren't the endgame threats, and they're inevitably going to lose control of the power they wield sooner or later if the rifts are anything to go by.

Overall, assuming the 4 content update/year trend continues, I think the future of from beyond looks like:

With the arc ending with Charlie & Wagstaff losing control of their respective forces and becoming trapped in the constant like the other survivors, either joining them or becoming NPC's.
