chandrasekhar Posted August 6, 2024 Share Posted August 6, 2024 Dear Klei, I'm a long time fan of all your games, and had an idea I thought was worth sharing recently. The idea came to me when, for a hundredth time today, I got annoyed at the bats that spawn each evening from the open sinkhole near my base. I thought that it would be a very nice improvement if I could craft some kind of a bat repellant, which I could place on just one open sinkhole - upgrading it so bats don't spawn from it anymore. I understand that this would be a very impactful change, so I'm all for making the recipe as expensive and/or short-lasting as necessary to balance the game out. But I do believe that if I'm able to defeat otherworldly eldritch beings with godlike powers, I should also probably be able to craft something that's gonna stop the annoying buggers from popping up each evening and bothering me in my base. It might be something organic, which repels them based on smell, or something which mechanically blocks them from flying up the sinkhole (some kind of gate, maybe?). Maybe even something sound-based, some kind of machine powered sonar which disturbs their orientation and requires a constant fuel supply, similar to a flingomatic? It would make me very happy if this was actually adopted in a future update. Cheers!
