So...how come there is no Jellybean for sanity equivalent item?

Recommended Posts

I have thought for a while now about how handy an item that gives sanity in a way similar to how Jellybeans deliver health would be . It would be very helpful for some high sanity drain bosses and for characters with low base sanity , maybe some ruins clearing also. Plus just a cool mid to late game reward for players .

It should be fairly challenging to craft ingredient wise. I would not mind if Royal Jelly was one of the components (especially since I tend to have a lot by midgame), maybe nightmare fuel , whatever really. I just know that we should have a shelf stable gradual sanity pill/treat to ingest.

Anyone else think it would be a nice late game reward treat ?

I guess you missed when I mentioned shelf stable and Jelly bean equivalent.  Shelf stable means does not expire ! This tea goes bad faster than you can shake a stick at, 3 days. Huge , huge difference . Also it only gives a piddly 45 sanity . I want a hard to craft item that does at least 100 sanity over 2 minutes, like a Jellybean.

Yes I realize Bundling Wrap is a thing and I can just wrap up some sanity dishes , which I do. But I want something that does not expire and gives sanity like a Jellybean gives health.

You can turn on hallowed nights for the sainity potion...

The mad scientist thing should be added to the base game.

I dont think is a good idea. Jelly beans already kills a lot of incentive to farm healing items/food, we dont need the same for a less used mechanic (and the tea will lose the few value it has)

I disagree about Jellybeans killing motivation for other healing methods. I see them as more as a complimentary healing ability for boss fights as they only deliver 2 health per second. If you're in a tight spot, you need a decent lump of health delivered , so a pierogi or honey poultice is still very relevant throughout the game. I seriously doubt anyone plays the game with Jellybeans being their only healing source as you seem to imply.

Also the point of progressing in the game is to make the players life easier on the day to day tasks. I mean by your logic , Starcaller Staffs and Mushlights are bad because players won't utilize campfires anymore. Notice I did say as a mid/late game item that's challenging to craft , as in not available right away.

All I know is we have 3 shelf stable healing items in Salves , Poultice and Jellybeans . Why can't sanity get some love in this department?

I guess the closest thing for on demand ,slow expiring sanity is a Polar Bearger Chest with very fresh sanity dishes inside. But that's an endgame item and not quite the same as I'm describing.

There is the Enlightened Crown to account for that's already fueled with Banana Shakes. The pot and ingredients can stay fresh indefinitely (if not automatically generated) which can also be set up with tea (although more trouble with needing 3 less natural sources vs. 0-2).
