Should I start a new game or continue with beta save?

Recommended Posts

As FPP now available for public release it's not very clear for me is it better to start a new colony for Frosty Planet or continue the beta save? My beta save is not progressed too far, less than 50 cycles, so I wonder if some new features in the release version like new Achievement is actually better be shown with fresh colony.

Also, what's your preferred mode for SO: classic-style or smaller planetoids for better Frozen experience. I found space journeys exciting but in the same time it's hard to evolve multiple colonies on several planetoids in parallel. My brain does not have capacity for such a multitasking obviously.

In my beta run I found there are warmer biomes not far away from printing pod, so I'm a little hesistant. I prefer casual play not ultra hard challenge. But I'd like to taste as much of winter as possible.

If you start fresh, you get to enjoy the fun of your first 50 cycles again, and you can have an even better base ! And in general, better be safe than sorry with worldgen. If I were in your shoes I'd do it again ! :D
I love smaller planetoids, they force me to a playstyle I would naturally avoid with bigger planetoids when you have access to more resources. So Spaced-out style for me ! I didn't use the "scramble DLC" function.
If you are concerned about geysers, you can start a savefile, go to starmap, see which geysers spawned on your starting asteroid and start again if you see those toasty volcanoes.
