I dont think they should lose freshness, otherwise there would be zero point to it, but its a cute and silly idea.

if the food doesn't loose freshness when un-cooked, you could refresh all of the cookable food for free, though. Maybe if the food that has been uncooked wouldn't gain freshness when cooked again, or couldn't be cooked on the fire at all anymore?

Its just fun and niche. You might suddenly find it useful for something.

No

I adore ridiculous mechanics that mostly exist for annoyance c':

(plus in case one needs a big amount of rot quickly that could be a use.)

Well like, just have it cost sanity. There is zero reason to uncook ingredients otherwise, unless you make a mistake cooking a blue mushroom.

Doing so makes them loose freshness. Idea by @chirsg

What if instead of uncooking them it restores freshness the only way I can think of the uncooking thing would be useful for is when you accidentally cook tall bird eggs

Well that IS a use afterall. *thinks of the many smallbirds I have lost by accidently transforming them into breakfast*
