additional loot proposal for crab king

I think that crabking should drop 1-3 pure brilliance as an equivalent of nightmare werepig pre-rift for pure brilliance instead of horror

Since more skill trees are adding uses for pure brilliance I think it would be nice to have a slow source of it pre rifts like how nightmare werepig gives you pure horror

And it gives an incentive to fight crabking without pearl

You could also make is crab king drops additional bottles based on the irredecent gem amount so late game tree farming would be better

Not true bases on wurts skill tree and winona lunar generator skill would be a lot worse without the enlightenment shard also almost all the alignment perks from every cast have similar power the only one that stands out is woodi because of storms which are late game

Also wurts shadow alignment is better pre and post rift than lunar alignment it's just that shadow is great immediately and lunar is great post rift but still worse than shadow

idk what's this even supposed to mean

woodie's shadow's better during early game because werepig, FW, no enlightened crown and shanter etc. but lunar's better for late game because moon storms

wurt's shadow perk requires less investment in comparison to lunar but lunar seems to be better for late game after you get pure brilliance

winona's shadow glasses're only really useful during early game but telebrella requires more investment and time

wormwood has no shadow alignment

a bit odd in case of willow since they're mostly unrelated to late game and early game

vice versa in case of wolfgang

wilson's affinity perks suck


Getting pure brilliance could be equivalent to getting pure horror with nightmare 
werepig.

Because in this way they are practically asking us to use the portal to exchange perks, which may be the intention.

But I think trees should be more of a choice for complete gameplay, rather than something more "linear". But I think that would be too much to ask.

Hear me out on this cause it’s going to sound a little crazy.

What if we made Winona’s Catapults Exclusive to playing as Winona?

But… at the exact same time we made the little Crabby Minions of Crab Kings as a Pet in DST?

Watching the latest Dev stream the artist Steph seems to really want to make CrabKing Pets.

The community want them as “Pets” I however do not…

And if you’ll give me a second I’ll explain that in full detail.

”Pets” are purely cosmetic, they’re kinda pointless (unless Klei plans to give them use later..)

And I’ve been playing the heck out of the new Winona with her skill tree, particularly the portable Catapults part where she can Assemble, and Disassemble her Catapult setups.

Stick with me.. this is where it gets weird (and awesome!) In DST we can already place down a Grass Trap to “Capture” and place into our inventory Living Spiders.

And I would imagine that carrying around a portable “Pet” Crab Minion like this would be no different..

Now here’s the cool part, if it can be picked up and placed in your inventory: It just effectively became Winona’s Re-Deployable Catapults.

I shouldn’t need to go into any further detail but I guess to fully flesh out the idea I will..

”Pet” Crab Minions can be Captured during the Crab King fight, they will take up an inventory slot when in inventory, or follow close to the player if dropped on the ground (much like Webber and his follower spiders do)

these Crab Minions will then assemble their towers (the same ones used in crab kings fight) and they’ll function much like Winona’s Non-Upgraded catapults do (but now with the added addition of being portable!)

These crabs will build and disassemble their towers, (then the crabs can be picked up a carried in your inventory) or you can have ONE follow you as a pet.

It all sounds highly complex, but really it’s just reusing already existing animations.

This might be off topic but, if Klei made catapults exclusive to Winona, i'm pretty sure 90% of the community would be upset. This would ruin a lot unique and fascinating farms like varg farms, spider farms, etc. which would really suck.

Even later in the game wurt lunar affinity still kinda sucks the second life for merms and the pure damage of the shadow mudslinger is insane Winona affinity is kinda debatable if you have good placements of wormholes and if klei allow her teleportation between nightmare lights or fissures then it might be worth going shadow affinity.right now is more of a case between beginners and more veterans players because the free revives for Winona.woodie affinity is not very interesting because aside from the base damage buff against shadow creatures the lunar affinity not really important unless your playing with moonstorms or with an late game wickerbottom.so I wouldn’t really say it between early and late game skills right now it seems to be more of an new player skill and an late game skill for some of the skill trees.
