Cosmetic changes to Winona I think would be neat

Personally, I've always liked the little animations and sound design in this game. And I think the little changes like the filter with Rose Coloured Glasses and the radar sound for the Inspetctacles when a cache is near is definitely a step in the right direction. But I would also like to suggest the following before this comes out of beta
 

  • Some sort of animation for the Inspetctacles when you put them on. Before you equip them they look like the following. Makes sense for the most part. And when you put them on they look like they've just been opened similar to WARBIS. The problem is that there is no animation or anything in the middle. You put it on and INSTANLY it's open like such and I think that should change for the most part. Just some quick animation or something to indicate it's a functional, working piece of machinery that's all.

  • This one I REALLY need even though Klei is probably going to do something eventually. We need some sort of sound for the Portasol. The animation is good and (although I personally would have made it fade to black briefly instead of dragging the camera across the screen for a brief second trying to locate Winona but I can live with that mostly). But we really are in desperate need of a sound effect for it! Take the Telebrella from Don't Starve Hamlet for instance. They could even just straight up use the same sound effect considering Wagstaff is the creator of the original model in lore I certainly wouldn't mind it at least.

 

  • I want to mention the Rose Coloured Glasses. I think visually it needs something else, because as of right now it mostly feels like comically large goggles instead of shadow magic. Personally I think it would be neat if lets say vines grew from it every now and again or it flutters like pedals in the wind when equipped. Though this one is certainly less important the last 2 imo.

 

  • And finally I want to talk about the rose bridge that the Rose Coloured Glasses spawn. It just kind of spawns in ya know? I'd rather the vines like wrap around themselves or something instead of just appearing. They hardly even feel like roses to be honest.

Now that you mention it yeah that could certainly work i'd be down for that! A similar sound to Jimmy could work too considering they are both propeller like

QUICK UPDATE: Some changes have been added in regards to the way Winona's abilities look so here is some changes
 

  • Vine bridge changes WOOOO, looks great love it! My only change is that i'd add a vine growth sound effect but besides that it's perfect!

  • Speaking of the rose glasses I never knew I needed this but damn that little finger snap is so neat!

  • Speaking of things I never knew there are these nice sound effects when turning the parts, when they connect to other parts, and when it spews out the gadgets and gizmos! Feels very crisp i'm a fan

  • And finally, There is this really small animation when putting it on of it opening which is really small and goes by really fast but is still nice it's there!

 

Overall real good job Klei I appreciate the polish! Still no sound effect for the Portasol sadly but hey we still have time plus i'm sure they have other stuff to prioritise first so fair enough!
