Amazing Qol for base builders, and all Players. Resource Supplier like in Palworld

Recommended Posts

Playing Palworld, an amazing Qol they have is that all materials in your chests in base all count as being in your inventory, and therefore work in crafting. Adding a feature like this to dst will be amazing, as we wont need to mindlessly look through hundreds of chests for what we need to craft. I always HATED trying to look for something in chests, and taking ages and eventually going in circles.

Idea of a way to implement it?

They could add another robot like Wobot which you can craft. When you try craft an item in this way within the robot's range, a new flying robot will very quickly collect it from a chest and give you the materials to craft it. It functions the same as Palworld, the robot is basically a requirment to do it, and an animation.

Another idea to implement it would be shadow magic. Some magical shadow structure will justify the ability to craft this way. Works the same as the robot just another design idea. It could be crafted using orange gems, living logs, and nightmare fuel.

If this gets added, please don't gatekeep it post riff or something. Make the Robot at a similar stage to Wobot. The shadow alternative will just be locked behind the ingredients and nothing else.

I don't like overcomplicating such things and making a special item that does that, which they would also lock behind rifts.
It's a simple QoL, just allow crafting stations to see inventory of nearby chests. People usually build chests around crafting stations anyway.

Never understood the idea behind tiny inconvenient storage, and why it should be fixed with extra shenanigans instead of plain QoL.

items on the ground are treated as an object (likely) rather just (likely) a ID + Amount Value.

which means it hoggs more resources which means higher (chance to) lag

that was mostly a joke and i know that, although they also exist properly in chests, they just aren't visually shown, only bundling wrap stores them as data iirc, although that usually doesn't matter much if you aren't megabasing

that's why you should put stuff onto the ground

Even still, i have to go to it and pick it up.

Seems like a more more late game item after you beat the final final boss(post rift final boss)

Not really.

There is a place in hell for Anti-Ground-ist.

(Joking aside, I use chest expansion mod that allow me to craft entire storage and it save my life, so I think the Resource Supplier idea greatly improves QOL)
