Mitch-El
Hello, Hallowed nights is event that doesn't require much explanation. It's one of the longest running events in the game, over the years more and more events got introduced among existing bunch of events, and looking on what other events offer Hallowed nights has little content compare to the rest. Sure, it gives us Mad Scientist Lab which unlocks some cool "experiments", and during the event we can also collect candy and Trinkets, and it is cool but after playing with it for a few years it just don't seem interesting over time. So I came with an idea of how to make Hallowed Nights more exciting. So the new special event that can occur during Hallowed Nights I named Hallowed Moonlight, as the name suggests it all centers around the moon. During Hallowed Nights we gain access not only to Mad Scientist Lab but also the Hallowed Forge, in which we can craft new halloween gear and decorations, but almost all of them require new drops from the new enemies, but to even summon them first we need to craft pumpkin staff(made ot of the living logs, lune tree blossom and pumpkin). This staff does nothing, but it serves one purpose, we need to insert it in to the Moon Stone. During full moon night it acts like the normal Moon stone event but it doesn't summon hounds and werepigs, and we don't need to protect it, what pumpkin staff will do is, it basically will lock full moon for the full days until the staff is removed, spoil(like 3/4 days) or event is complite. also instead of normal bluish glow full moon nights have it will now glow yellow/orage. What will interest us the most during that nights would be Suspicious Dirt Piles, until Hallowed Moodlight isn't over we can find new type of it, the Rooted Dirt Pile. The first pile we find would be unguarded and unprotected, and after examining it it will uncover Lune Flower Blossom, it's largest leaf will point to the next pile(just like in the normal hunt), but here's where things would get interesting. Next Rooted Dirt Piles would be protected by roots which won't allow access until all the mobs guarding it will die. And here's where we can meet new mobs, I called them the Moonpkins, those are pumpkins mutated by the moonlight, they will grow like normal plants, but when we get close, they will show their full colors trying to stop players from getting to the dirt pile. The further we are at the hunt the more and more new types of them we gonna encounter and fights will got much more hard. I decided to throw some of the known mobs to the mix alongside new ones, but like i said the further in the hunt the known mobs will be replaced almost completely by Moonpkins. So our first Moonpkin is the Fighter, it is the most common amongst Moonpkins, it will move as the same speed as the Dread Mite(dropped by Fused Shadeling), it will attack close range(just like the spiders). The Moonpkins will drop the Mutated Pumpkin Flesh which we gonna need for the new crafts. Next mob would be the Spawner, it moves slowly and won't attack on it's own, it will try to remaid distance from the player but it will spawn the Small Moonpkin(which acts like the Birchnutter). Next on the list is the Trapper, it will act like the Fighter but it will move slower than him, but it will use its ability to trap players in the root prison(just like the Spiny Bindweed). Last Moonpkin we can encounter before reaching hunts end is the Clouder, it will also move as the same speed as the Trapper but instead of attacking normally it will release Lunar Spores(just like the Mush Gnome). And at the hunts end we finally can face the Moonpking, it is a stationary boss and after attacking him it will create roots(the same that blocked rooted dirt piles) around his arena(just like the Antlion), it will use his root whips to attack and from time to time it will create the trap spots that will hurt the player with moon glass(similar to the Shattered Spider attack) if the player doesn't leave from the spots at the time. If his health drops to the certain points it will cover himself in roots blocking any damage. During that phases he won't attack on it's own but rather will spawn some of the Moonpkins i introduced earlier, he will stay rooted until we don't kill all mobs in the arena. When rooted it will summon the moonlight that will charge his healing ability, but it will take him a while to complete this process, so that the players can deal with the mobs he spawned in the arena(and he never heals fully so it isn't to hard). After his defeat he drops Lune Flower Blossom and full moon days are gone and it's back to normal day cycle(the Hallowed Moonlight even won't change the moon cycles). Lune Flower Blossom and Mutated Pumpkin Flesh can be used at the Hallowed Forge to craft new gear and decorations. The Moonkin helmet will work like the regular football helmet but it will come with the additional damage resistance during full moon nights. The Lune flower cloack won't add much resistance but also during full moon nights it will provide player additional speed boost. And the Lunar Scythe and the Moonpkin Staff, the scythe will deal the same damage as the ham bat but it will have a bonus of dealing additional damage to the plant related mobs(like the Moonpkins) it will also have ability to cut all the plants like the Shadow Reaper(i think it is a usefull ability that no other tool have and in my opinion it would be nice to have access to it earlier in the game), and with the Moonpkin staff you can trap mobs behind the Spiny Bindweed roots, but it will spoil over time just like Pugalisk Wand. I also decided to add new experiment to the Mad Scientist Lab which will allow players to create their own friendly Moonpkin mobs. New decorations, I've seen some people in the community saying that they would welcome eternal pumpkin lanterns(they still will require refueling to glow) and craftable gravestones, and i think that would be great time to introduce something like it. With that event it would also be nice to see some new skin collection since all survivors have two halloween skins sets(except Wanda shes still missing one). My idea is something of hunter/Van Helsing like looking collection to really center it around hunters. And yeah that would be it, I would also like to apologise for any spelling errors/sentence construction etc. English isn't my first language so once again sorry, just wanted to share my idea with the community. Hope you like some of the ideas I presented and if you like the ideas and like to expand on them or don't like some of the features share your thoughts in the replies, I would be happy to read them.
