All you hear is fearful trumpet noises as Wilson runs around base with a very angry merm behind him

Aside form how funny the drawing and the description is, I ESPECIALLY adore that you give the characters different sizes! \o/ *yay for a seldom case of height variation in DS art*

Thank you!! I've always found drawing height differences hard to do so I haven't done it in a lot of drawings. I'm glad you pointed it out :wilson_blush:

Proportions and height differences are one of my mortal-enemies in art too, so I adore every time I see other people's attempts at doing so. [Your Wurt / Wilson height difference looks good to me!]

All I can see is WX absolutely hating Wormwood more than any other survivor and would definitely be digging up plants or chopping trees in front of him out of pure spite

I usually don't draw Wilson with a beard despite the fact that's his only special skill so I made some doodles specifically for his magnificent beard :wilson_bearded:

Untitled377_20240720034746.png

I adore fluffy Wilson so much :'3 Awww now I wish there was an ITEM for Wilson actually putting visually flowers into his beard (beard storage doesn't count) or that only Wilson automatically has flowers drawn on his beard when he equpis the flower hat :3

The flowers in Wilson's beard is one of the reasons I love the roseate costume so much. I NEED flower beard Wilson

Oh no i don't want to force them so not mandatory. But since spiders are hiveminds I'm very sure they are eeger to meet their spidery friends without being urged to do so :3

Wanted to take a go at what I think WX looked like (which I guess they kinda look like what most people think they do)

I think the fanon name is Woodrow?

Yes! Love your design for them! :> I like how people have sort of reverse-engineered (pun intended) a design for them, especially the color palette. It looks great! :>

Also, I love Jimmy! I never see people give him enough love, XD.

Woodrow as a name for them originates from the fact that some of WX's audio files use that name. It's not canon, and probably less canon than, say, Wathgrithr as Wigfrid's real name, since Wathgrithr is (as far as I know) always used throughout Wigfrid's files, but Woodrow is only used for their audio files, but it's the closest thing to a canon name they have.

EDIT: Nevermind please ignore my question if you also have a headcanon name. My insomnia struggling and in general stressed brain oversaw the Woodrow. Your WX is at least less "punished" by their former name than mine :'3 I like your name (also it's like always better than every spontanious idea my mind comes up with) , also I didn't know it was inside the voice files though.

You guys motivate me more and more to also draw down my headcanon look for them in their human past >( [though my headcanon look involves hair being more curly / wavy than seen in the silhouettes as I had the former-human headcanon before I know this animated film and I can't manage to change such a drastical part of my headcanon character design afterwards just to match some canon so my idea is AU xD] Anyway each time I see a human WX (I wonder do you people also have a headcanon former name for them? I do, but it is a rather "rare" name that WX themselves didn't like nor use imo) I get very happy AND feel some heavy relationship with their (I assume) dysphoria?

Oh, I had no idea the name came from their audio files I just thought it was a popular name the fandom collectively agreed on. Thats actually really cool. (I always thought Wigfrid's name would be something like Winifred, or maybe im biased cause I want the name to be similar to the stage name lol)

I don't think I've ever really had a set name for Wx in my mind, though I do kinda see Wesley but that might be too close to Wes for them to use. I usually just wait till something is canon or just use which ever is commonly used so people don't get confused. For all we know his former name might not even start with a W since characters like Wagstaff don't have their first name be a W, so maybe it's their last name too or exclusively his name now. (Though ig I'm over thinking I don't think they would be that complicated lol)

I usually have a natural "repulse" towards canon or popular fandom agreements (that is not meant out of spite but it comes from my usual fandom experience of ALL of my ideas being leaning towards AU or happen to somehow be the opposite of popular fandom agreements, even before I knew the canon / popular fandom equivalent of my ideas) so I suppose that's why all my ideas come across as weird and illogical mostly (my brain sees EVERYTHING from an AU pov automatically as I tend to get tons of spontanious ideas that often as I find out later are not canon, so I just keep everything I think of automatically AU so I don't have to change / discard the ideas I have put much intense obsession into. ). I DO see however why people lean so much towards canon and popular fandom agreements. It makes it less likely to confuse other fans with your stuff (and it happen to fit into the story without giving someone the feeling to update or justify ones ideas)

I interpret their human name as their preferred name and WX as more of a model number that they end up adopting post empathy module break. But it could also go either way, so that's really up to personal interpretation,

I also definitely see the dysphoria angle, that's always been a big part of my interpretation of them and why I relate to them as someone with dysphoria as well, and I think that a lot of people who experience dysphoria have been able to relate to them through that, which is great. It's really nice to see representation of that, that's part of why I love their character so much.

Winifrid also could be argued to have evidence as a name, actually! There's an unimplemented character named Winnie that is basically a recolor of Wigfrid, so Winnie has been speculated as a name for her. Winnie could totally be short for Winifrid.

Yeah, characters don't need a W first name, although most of them have a W name in some capacity. Charlie, for example, despite not having a W first name, has a W last name. It's not canon what it is, just the last initial.

AUs do go brr. I like seeing lore and stories from different perspectives and with different ideas added to them. Would love to see anything you want to share.

OK I feel motivated now. As soon as I find time / energy I will make a quick(!) sketch for my WX version (probably not coloured, I currently have my art supplies unsorted)

(once again this is very AU as all of my stuff, also nothing I ever think of makes sense and lots of it like always contradicts all canon stuff. It's never meant in a mean way it's just the way my obsession brain works like). I also wasn't sure at first if I wanted to give WX a W-surname or a W-lastname but I decided for the surname because it was the kind of name that came to my mind the moment I randomly went: This robot sure wasn't /ALWAYS/ a robot.

[and after I saw the short I definitely relate to WX with their empathy module and very heavy reference to dysphoria, being a person with lots of dysphoria (physical / anxiety-based and also in the sense of if I COULD remove most of my emotional memories I probably would. ]

Though I like always probably have several differences in my interpretion of WX than what an analyze of the character would create. I can't really remove ideas I have even though they don't fit the canon as my mind obsesses about his own ideas too much to ever adapt them. Anyway, that's why nobody should be surprised my WX is a bit.....shaped by my own positive and negative obsessions again. But that's a normal pattern in all my characters / character AUs, WX is no exception. )

About Wigfried: I also thought she very likely has a different real life name, since she is constantly acting in the game. Winifrid is a nice version [I don't have a name for her yet, since none has come to my mind]
